    Hi ,
    I applied for a liscence for a CZ22 almost 4 weeks ago.
Are the liscences awarded by the local superintendant or from Dublin or what exactly is the process and how long does it normally take.
I live in the Thomastown area of Co Kilkenny and have recently spoken to the local guard who has told me he is waiting on word back !! ?
I have submitted permission from two farmers and am a member of the midlands gun club.

    Thanks in advance.

when i applied for my cz .22 license ,got a letter from local super sayin he wanted to meet me in person ,done mmeting and he gave me the go ahead or approval and signed off on it ,then it is sent up to dublin to be put on the system or what ever they do up there ,and then sent back to your local garda station for u to pick up ,in all it took me about 3 months to get license in my hand from start to finish ,that was`my first license though ,hope this clears it up a bit

Whopwop is this your first liscence or do you already hold a liscence for another firearm. My first liscence took about 10 to 12 weeks for a cz .22, my second and third took alot less. If its your first one they are proably doing backround checks which are standard for everyone after that your super will more than likely sign off on it and then send it off to the park in dublin to go on system were you have to play the waiting game. Alot depends on the garda as well getting the paper work sent off. I know for a fact that the lads in thomastown are usualy on the ball so just hang in there its a bit frustating waiting around but its worth it in the end.

Have been granted a licence since october 28 but its still been printed in the park by Mary, have asked a garda friend to check out the process, he said they will only process 100 per week and they are still doing septembers.

Just have to wait , fox already has two lambs ,im told by the farmer that give me rights of his land:confused:

Thanks for the help guys, yes it is my first liscence so I suppose there is no hope of getting out for a few shots over the Christmas then .
I have already joined the midlands G.C. as I do intend on moving up to full bore at some stage.
