    Anyone watching this? Russell Brand just won best stand up performer. He accepted the award via satellite with Adam Sandler standing beside him. He went on to say he was awarding it to Jonathon Ross. Then went on to say the awards show would be no good without him(Angus Deayon hosting)..then he was cut off halfway through his wee speech. Ross' show had been nominated for best show but Tv Burp won that one.

    Yeah, I noticed that myself. They cut him off for standing up for his mate. Fair play to him!
    Sure why is Aengus Deayton presenting those awards anyway? Was he the only one that would actually do it?
    Tbh, I don't think the winners of the awards deserved them. Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks are both far and above funnier than QI. Esp. HIGNFY, love that show.
    Also, Ricky Gervais might be funny, but that award kinda smacks of "don't forget us here in the UK, Ricky, while you go about making your millions!". David Mitchel, IMO, should have won that! :D Though Gervais' VT was funny :pac:

    I love those shows too. Angus Deayton was good on 'HIGNFY'. The episode after the scandal all came out in the papers about him was hilarious:D. Fair play to George Michael putting in the appearance with Gervais. He takes a lot of slagging over the whole romping in the bushes thing. I really like him.

    Thrilled for Russell Brand, fair play to him for standing up for Jonathan too. Don't agree with a few of the winners, especially Ricky Gervais, but overall a good show

    Who was that person shouting "bollox" constantly during Gervais' acceptance VT

    And I felt Angus' joke about ''the winners speeches will be released in a forthcoming compilation'' was hilarious...:D

    The Gervais award was ridiculous. The only thing he's done in the past 18 months was the Extras Christmas special and that aired in 2007. Funny during his acceptance you could hear this one guy going absolutey mental in the audience.

    I think it was Kevin Bishop (Star Stories) as someone mentioned him later on in the night when he was shouting again.

    It was actually quite distracting during Ricky Gervais's speech but funny the second time.
