they are responsible for the whole soldered in battery trend. i know you can replace them, but most people these days don't know what a soldering iron looks like so basically the idea is you throw it away and buy new when the battery goes bad

The only colours I've ever seen people having are black, silver, pink and blue.

So I'd go with either green or orange.

The problem with apple is, to add 1gig of ram to a Mac Mini is 73 euro. Its pc5300 ram, it would be about 13 euro to buy in the shops. Thats 500% markup

Couple of hundred more than my thinkpad X61 but it has a larger hard drive and bigger screen. If by "equivalent spec pc" you mean a dell or some such i would prefer to buy a mac. Buying crappy hardware is false economy imo.

Well you can buy it from Crucial, I thought that's what everyone did!! Its €20 (depending on model of course!)

I'm sorry to tell you, but Apple sell largely the same processor/ram/graphics cards/hard drives as almost every other manufacture, they just add a huge chunk onto the price and put a sticker on it.

They just don't like people messing with their stuff!! No seriously I understand where you're coming from, they can be tricky to open, but it can be done relatively easy if you know what you're doing!
