    Hi

    myself and my brother have obtained planning for two houses on a field we own.What deal in price would be acceptable for the materials,builders,electricians..etc, if both of us sourced the same contacts.

    It really depends on the size of the house. Many builders will have different prices. But I dont know too much, I just know small bits from being a laborer for my dad (a carpenter) working for builders.

    it depends on many things,site clearance etc and the size and quality of interior,and were u are may effect u,ive biult many houses in dublin,dundalk,etc,,,if 2 of you biult at same time u could save thousands

    There are too many variable factors in play here to answer your question properly. You should definitely be accepting a discount but this is based on the two of ye building identical houses, otherwise The various discounts would be uneven and might lead to complications between you and your brother.

    For an idea on prices consult the sticky here for ideas, but you might not find information on discounts for multiple builds. The best advice I can offer is get a few copies of the drawings used for the planning application and hand it out to a few contractors. They will give you an idea on definite prices. Just to add it is well worth sorting out construction methods, and specification levels before you do this because if you don't all quotes you get will be for a bog standard house, which might be less than you want.
