I recently had exams and I these prayers really helped me so I thought I'd share them with you.
St. Thomas Aquinas' Prayer for Students

O Mary, Mother of enchanting love, of fear, of knowledge, of holy hope, through Whose pious intercession many make admirable progress in studies and piety despite crudeness of understanding, I choose Thee as protectress and patroness of my studies. Humbly I implore Thee that, from the heart of Thy maternal pity, and principally from the Eternal Wisdom that deigned to take on our flesh in Thee, and that exalted Thee in heavenly light above all the saints, Thou obtain grace from the Holy Ghost for me so that I might be able to penetrate with my understanding, retain in my memory, express by my life and words, and teach to others all that brings honor to Thee and Thy divine Son, likewise to the advantage of my eternal joy and that of all men. So be it.

O Blessed Thomas, Patron of Schools,
    Obtain for us from God
    An Invincible Faith,
    A Burning Charity,
    A Chaste Life,
    And True Knowledge
    Through Christ Our Lord.
    Amen.

O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing. In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.
    Through Christ our Lord.
St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us.
    Amen.
    Prayer of a Student
Christ my Lord, the Giver of light and wisdom, who opened the eyes of the blind man and transformed the fishermen into wise heralds and teachers of the gospel through the coming of the Holy Spirit, shine also in my mind the light of the grace of the Holy Spirit. Grant me discernment, understanding and wisdom in learning. Enable me to complete my assignments and to abound in every good work, for to You I give honor and glory. Amen.
    Prayers Before Study
Most blessed Lord, send the grace of Your Holy Spirit on me to strengthen me that I may learn well the subject I am about to study and by it become a better person for Your glory, the comfort of my family and the benefit of Your Church and our Nation. Amen

Christ, the true light, who enlightens and sanctifies every person coming into the world, let the light of Your countenance shine upon me (us) that I (we) may see Your unapproachable light; and guide my (our) steps in the way of Your commandments, through the intercessions of Your all-holy Mother and of all the Saints. Amen.
    Prayer After Study
I thank You, Lord our God, that again on this occasion You have opened my eyes to the light of Your wisdom. You have gladdened my heart with the knowledge of truth. I entreat You, Lord, help me always to do Your will. Bless my soul and body, my words and deeds. Enable me to grow in grace, virtue and good habits, that Your name may be glorified, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
May Our Lady, Untier of Knots, come to your assistance.

Holy Mary, full of the presence of God during your life you accepted with great humility the Holy Will of the Father and the legacy of your Son Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Evil never dared to entangle you with its confusion. Since then you have interceded for all of our difficulties. With all simplicity and patience you have given us example on how to untangle the knots in our complicated lives. By being our Mother forever, you arrange and make clear the path that unites us to Our Lord. Holy Mary, Mother of God and ours, with your maternal heart untie the knots that upset our lives. We ask you to receive in your hands ( mention who or prayer request) and deliver us from the chains and confusions that have us restrained. Blessed Virgin Mary, through your grace, your intercession and by your example, deliver us from evil and untie the knots that keep us from uniting with God, so that once free of every confusion and error, we may find Him in all things, have Him in our hearts and serve him always in our brothers and sisters. Mother of Good Counsel pray for us . Amen

My next door neighbour lit a candle for me and prayed to the patron saint of lost causes (forget his name). Shows how much faith she had in my abilities...

The patron saint of lost causes is St. Jude.

This a little Novena that has helped through tough times

    Novena to the Sacred Heart
Dear Heart of Jesus in the past I have asked for many favours. This time I ask you this special one (mention favour). Take it dear Heart of Jesus and place it within your heart where your Father sees it then in his merciful eyes it will become your favour, not mine. Amen.

Say this prayer 3 times for 3 days and your favour will be granted. Must promise publication.

Christianity is about humility, we are all lost causes if you ask me. :D

I never heard the term lost causes though, only the term Hopeless cases being used of which I am the chief :pac:

pml, yep that would be St. Jude. I too received a prayer from a neighbour before I started my exams at uni, and I admit...it kinda left me wondering what the story was with that..especially when I got it thrust into my palm and told to cherish it  and I had no idea at the time what the hell she was prattling on about...Actually, at the time I distinctly remember being generally uncomfortable and not a little pissed off....

...nonetheless desperate does what desperate needs to..lol...ie study like a there's no tomorrow...

Galvasean you'll be fine, and please God St. Jude will do his very best prayers for you and on your behalf, he did for me...! So did all the others too..lol..

    God bless and good luck..

My sister swears by this prayer and I've seen it work myself. It works best if you pass it on. Doing repeats at the moment so need all the help I can get.

"Oh great St Joseph of Cupertino, who by your prayers obtained from God that you should be asked in your exams only the propositions you knew.
Obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing.
In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked. Through Christ our Lord. Amen."

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Surely studying properly would be a better way to ensure you pass exams?

Stop trolling. You are not genuinely so dim as to think this is an either/or situation.

I'm not, its a genuine statement.Do people actually think that someone praying will make them remember what they need for an exam? what if they fail? were their prayers not answered? and if they do pass, does that count as cheating? if you do the work required you'll pass, if not you wont.

Plenty of people 'do the work' and then fail exams for various reasons (nervousness, headaches, lose their pencil etc). It seems perfectly reasonable for believers to ask God to help them remember the material they've studied, to have the confidence they need etc.

If you sit through an entire exam after losing your pencil and dont ask for another one you deserve to fail tbh

Wouldn't they be better off asking God for a cure for cancer, or something worthwhile? Hmmm, God has never done anything for anyone before but now all of a sudden he's going to help me with an exam. Don't think so. You do the work, you get the results.

Now, now. Play nice. We have a gentleman's agreement with Robin and Dades that we don't allow criticism of one another's fora. So referring to their place in those terms is not welcome here.

I don't know who Robin and Dades are so that was lost on me..

I'm sorry, believe what you will but if you're convinced a prayer will help you pass an exam you need your head checked.

Being a prod I would pray to God (rather than saints) to ask for calm and that the work I've done would be sufficient.

    Love the St Ignatius quote
