Pixmania- Help/advice

Hi All,

Trying to buy for the first time off Pixmania.ie but having some problems. Trying to buy a Fuji FinePix S1000fd for the g/f for christmas (seems like a good buy- good bit cheaper than argos- although admittedly I know nothing about cameras).

Anyway, everything goes fine until I come to the final payment screen. I've tried to pay by laser but I get a message saying something like "unfortunately we cannot process your payment at this time please try again here" and I get redirected to the main screen.

Now I've rang the bank- absolutely no problem with my card/account.
Tried to use my mastercard- same story (also no problem with card etc)

I've even tried using a relative's card and the same story!

Really annoying as this was gonna take a lot of the hassle out of shopping. I tried ringing them but was put through to someone in India who asked was a trying to buy a dvd- which I thought was a bit dodge!!

I've been looking on the internet and there seems to be a few horror stories with these guys- could anyone advise. Am I better off buying this camera elsewhere?

That looks great. Have you bought before yourself from dabs? Would you recommend?

I'm relatively new to this whole shopping online thing but just rang a camera shop and that (dabs) would be nearly a €100 saving, although admittedly without the extras that the shop were offering....

Would you set up a paypal account it is a lot easier than paying with your card and anytime I use mypix it goes straight through.

yeah, I've used dabs a number of times, never had a problem with them

I ordered some stuff from pixmania (not camera gear). One part arrived just fine, as expected. The other item has been delayed by nearly a week, but has now shipped and I hope to have it Monday. So, Monday evening I hope to be setting up my new TV.
