As some of you probably know, the Dark Knight blu-ray is out next week (Dec 8th).
On Dec 19th, you'll be able to live chat with director Christopher Nolan through your blu-ray player while watching the movie!
    How cool is that?

It's limited to 100,000 people though, you can find out how to register here http://thedarkknight.warnerbros.com/dvdsite/event/index.html

Here's some more things you can do:

Leading the just-confirmed roster of BD-Live functions is "My WB Commentary," which allows users with a webcam to record their own video commentary that can be shared online with others.
The track will play as a picture-in-picture track while your friends watch the film. (Bonus View-compatible player required.)

Other features include "My Community Screening," which facilitates real-time multiple viewing of the film via BD-Live.
Users can chat during playback, connect to community showings our send out invitations for their own screenings.

Additional web-driven features on 'The Dark Knight' include an online destination where you can shop the WB Store, download trailers of other Warner Blu-ray releases, create your own wishlist of upcoming WB Blu-ray titles, and even create a database listing for your current high-def library.

Because the movie alone isn't good enough for you to not illegal download it?

I wouldnt even be bothered downloading it never mind buying the bloody thing.Arguably the most over rated, over hyped movie Ive ever seen. Its not that its a bad movie but Jesus I spent the whole summer arguing with fanboys over Heath Ledgers performance.I will be very surprised if he doesnt get a post-humous oscar however. Not because of his performance - which is more than a little hammy if fairness - but because he croaked it and because he didnt win one for brokeback mountain.

In fairness, he was worth the hype, he was fantastic. Aaron Eckhart was still better though.

Not when im broke, no. Employment has a direct relation to how often I choose to pirate. After all I'd love to see what all the BD fuss is about - I just dont have the money.

You've got a thing against popular films, don't you ned? :p

It's odd, I felt The Dark Knight was hyped beyond belief, but that didn't stop me enjoying it. It is a terrific film.

Depends on what you deem to be a popular film.

    I said
Its not that its a bad movie

I just dont understand the praise that has been shoveled on to it and a major reason for that is to do with Ledgers performance.
I would be interested to know how many people that have raved about his interpretation of the joker DIDNT take the piss out of Brokeback Mountain and go on about things like - uhh, thats a ******s movie, cowboys arent gay, just look at john wayne or clint eastwood etc - Its horseshiite.

What has one film got to do with another?

I was really annoyed by everyone hyping Ledgers performance because he was dead, and then I saw the movie and realised that it was justified. He was amazing and really threw himself into the role.

With regards the BD-Live thing, that sounds pretty cool. Hopefully it's not going to be a one off event and that more movies do it.

I think it's a great idea, although I'm a bit curious to see how a live chat with 100,000 people works... Is it just going to be like a director commentary kind of situation? Either way, should be really cool, I absolutely cannot wait to get my copy. I've actually been working with Warner Home Video and they're so serious about this movie, they won't even give me a free copy!

HB II also has a feature where you can take stills of the movie, create a comic with it by putting in panels and speech bubbles, upload it and share it with others.

Got both on blu ray yesterday. Watched TDK, stunning. Haven't gotten around to Hellboy yet.
