I am interested in getting a laptop to use for fairly basic use, ie; storing & editing photographs, surfing internet with 3g mobile vodafone connection and ms works, preferably vista, to be connected at times to a printer...

    What laptop would suit me..
I would consider a used reconditioned laptop as I am low on cash, what sort of money and where are good reliable places to buy online or in a shop????

    Thanks in advance ;)

When you say "editing photographs" what are we talking about here? Basic cropping of pictures and the likes? Or full on photoshop? Budget laptops and photoshop generally dont go well together.
And it's always better if you give a budget, when you ask what sort of money, you're talking of a range starting at 200=>5000+ so perhaps elaborate on what you mean by cheap.

well I don't have photoshop but something like studioline classic and if that would make the laptop more expensive its not essential as I would do most work on a desktop pc..

    I'm talking around up to 400Euro :o:(

seeing as you said you would like vista, this rules out "netbooks" such as those made by Asus and others. Laptopsdirect.ie looks quite good for laptop prices in comparison with PC world. Dell could be worth a look too..I would recommend pumping it full of as much RAM as your budget will allow to help keep it running nicely for you. I myself am using a vista and will probably go back to XP the next time I'm buying. I'm sure there are loads more IT people on here who could give you help with it. I'm not sure if we are allowed to link to specific products on websites here..
