I'm just wondering how do i get that messy look hairstyle(For a guy) as whenever I do it it never sticks or works properly and it either looks too greasy or it fades after a while?

How long is your hair? I guess that's kinda important.

My hair goes like that usually, but I never use any sort of gels/creams. I find just having a shower, towel drying your hair so that it looks messy, then leaving it to air dry has just the same effect.

Hairspray won't make your hair look greasy. Spray it in as you style it. For super messy use a fine tooth comb, take a section of hair and brush against the way it's growing. More hairspray!

give up the likes of combs. mine is naturally messy, i like to go for the Dylan Moran look, but its more of a laziness thing. if you want it for a night out, don't wash your hair for about 4 days before going out:cool:

That's kinda disgusting, I wouldn't go out without having a wash!

Sounds the same length as my hair. Try what I said and see if it works.

Whats the difference between messy hair and bedhead?

I find V05 extreme style putty gives a good hold.

Oh no my bedhead makes me look like I escaped from a psych ward!
    I want controlled messy hair.

Plus I have very straight hair.

A tiny amount of gel and then towel dry the bejaysus out of it. Works every time.

Do you mean put gel in whn my hair is wet or just get it and then give it a good rub with a towel when dry?

Towel drying it like that completely damages your hair, you should dry only using the towel in the direction your hair grows, use a hairdryer or better still let it dry naturally, then use any of the clays not gels to get a matted messy look. Use a small amount and run through your hair in different directions until your satisfied and then use some hairspray to keep it that way! Main tip really is to make sure your hair is dry before using any products.

i either towel dry or let dry by itself and then whack a load of VO5 Rework into my hair

my hair is REALLY thick though... if i didn't use stuff in my hair it would look like a massive fluffy mop... anyone ever see Garfield after he'd had a wash??

    Boo.

Not recommended, can lead to early baldness.

Get yourself some modelling clay. Once its in your hair it looks like you're not using anything at all and its naturally messy looking.
I got a tub of brylcreem clay in my local pharmacy for about a fiver and you dont need much everytime you use it
