    hey, ive been going over and over these questions, which are pissing me off as they are so easy, but i can seem to get them out to be correct,well for a computer to accept them, there could be the minute possibiliy that the computer is wrong.:mad:

    1. simplify Log..10...1000 = 6x
    10^6x = 10^3
    6x = 3
    x=1/2

    2. find the poles of the following fractions.

    put denominator = 0

    f(x) = x+3/x-4

    x-4=0
    x=4

    => pole at x= 4

    f(x) = t^2 + t + 1 / 2t + 1

    2t+1=0
    2t= -1

    t = -1/2

    => pole at t = -1/2

    Ive a few partial fraction questions but they would take a age to write out on this.

    I just equated the terms after I broke down the denominator and used the formulas. Is this a acceptable way?? or do i have to use substitution?

    thanks this is doing my nut in, they are easy LC questions at best.:(
