I rang them weeks ago to see about a change over .They were to ring me back ...still waiting.If thats how they treat you as a potential new customer i can only imagine what the customer service is like generally.

It's not a bad deal - but I hate the way they use misleading advertising "free calls to mobiles" - when it's only just over 1 minute a day.
It would put me off going with them.

I'm glad you highlighted the 40 minutes a month part. It was in small print on the brochure they were sending around. A mate of mine asked me about this and I checked it out knowing there had to be a catch. 40minutes a month is hardly worth mentioning unless your being disingenuous in your advertising.

The 40 mins to mobiles is only worth 7/8 euros.... TBH any service that includes a rental fee is always dearer . Perlico just rent the lines off eircom.

I don't think it's that straight forward, you need to have a Meteor phone contract and Eircom Phone line with broadband, everthing needs to be registered in you name...

Man that deal sounds pretty crap too me. Even eircom have better deals than that. My sister was with them before and her service terrible and the customer care people didn#t seem to give sh*t. As others have said, stay away them, it isn't even a good offer anyway

Also best CS I've experienced! Reliability = 100%.. I've had them for over 2 years now... Awesome speed

True 24MB 1:1 would cost thousands per month! Smart's 24MB is contended, it's just more intelligently managed.It's marketing spiel....

You may be correct, but as you say its managed well and for the love of god, 24mb is blisteringly fast!

In fairness, im with Perlico. I have never had a problem with their customer service and have rarely had to use it as their service is usually fine. I never have a speed problem, im only on 1mb but i get that full 1mb, it never deviates in speed.

I had tried to sign up to BT who could not make me a customer to save their life, lost my application not once, but twice. Perlico took minutes to sign up to and there was no downtime. Once the change took place i just had to call perlico to get my updated username/pass. got through right away.

I have called Eircom and BT and its a night mare. Also im in the IT support industry and a lot of my customers have Magnet who are always going down. Not so long ago all of magnet went down, including their own website and phonelines. For a fe hours, Magnet did not exist outside their own building and you could not contact them

Perlico are grand, not the best sure but the best is not available nationwide.
No point going on about UPC when most of the country (myself included) can not get them.
