Xmas Present for Boyfriend

Hey was wondering if anyone could give me some help.

My boyfriend has always been into darts but recently gotten more into it eg. joined a local team, plays matches once a week. I really don't know what to get him this year and he's quite hard to buy for so I was hoping there was something you could reccommend for someone with a love of darts that he'd also love as a xmas pesent.

I have no idea where to even go, are there specific shops? I have about €150 - 200 to spend on this, could I get something of decent quality for this amount like good darts/board?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated;)

My boyfriend got a beautiful darts set €85 in the local sports shop that mounts onto the wall, go into any of the big sports stores and you will get a good brand of dart board and darts for around €100.:)

Where abouts in Dublin you from

The winmau edition board and case is 52 Euros in Argos, good board, also if you can find out what type of darts he uses like weight, there are come lovely ones out there, bring it in conversation so like how come darts players use different weight darts, then say which ones u use.BINGO""!!

Yep Hitmans on the money, players get very used to a certain weight

i throw 24 gram darts, ive ordered 2 sets myself for christmas, the 2 sets and some flight cumulatively cost me 50 euro, i also play to get a practice boards (which is a board with half sized trebles and doubles and bullseye, so trains you to be more accurate)

Most definitely Darts/Flights/Shafts are very personal to the person, it may be hard to get that right, he may also be very attached to his current darts, the practice board however would never go amiss.

There's also custom printed darts boxes on reddragondarts.co.uk and scoreboards

Lots of different things to make practice more interesting.

He is one lucky guy! Most partners I found over the years seemed to hate the darts let alone buy me some :(;)

As already stated though try find out what weight dart he uses. www.dartscorner.co.uk have a good selection.

One lucky guy :D If he is big into his darts a Trainer Board would be perfect. Here is one in dartscorner..........i have bought a good bit of stuff from here and they are excellent to deal with.

Thanks for the replys, have taken the advice of not getting darts, he already has his own set and I wouldn't know where to start with weights!

Think I'm going to go with the training board, looks good. Boxed off nice and early for once this xmas thank god.

    Thanks again:D

Also depends whether he'd be willing to make a trip up to Belfast or not but the Premier League darts is being held there in the Odyssey arena on February 26th (this is the event shown on SkySports with Phil Taylor, Barneveld etc). Tickets are still available from ticketmaster.ie and aren't too dear at 22.50 each (sterling).

Now that is an excellent idea!

Sorry for hijacking the thread but which would be the better dartboard? The Winmau Lakeside Edition, or the Unicorn Hustler? They are both in argos and have a cabinet. Cheers.

    Definitely the Winmau board.

That is the best board that comes with a cabinet. The best board you can get though is the Unicorn Eclipse Pro, the wire is much thinner making the trebles and doubles bigger and you will get almost zero bounce outs. if you can you should buy this board and get a cabinet separate. Might be slightly more expensive but worth it.

That said the only difference between the Winmau board and the Unicorn one is the wires are much thicker of the Winmau board. If that doesn't bother you then go for it.

+1. You cant go wrong with the winmau and its a bargain at the price argos are charging. i paid over twice that but i still feel like i got a good deal.
