I was wondering what people thought would be a fair price for agricualtural land per acre. I am interested in buying some land (1 -2 acres) for the purposes of growing vegetables, trees etc. I know it's difficult to get small parcels of land like this without paying site prices but if someone was willing to sell at agricultural prices what would I be expecting to pay? Thanks

My best guess would be €10-€15k an acre. Would you consider leasing a field or two, this could be done for about €200 (under 11 month grazing licence) or so an acre. You might consider someone trying to sell a site and say that you take it off them for the year. Highly unlikely that any site will sell quickly this year without being priced competitvely. Just a thought
