I just bought a laptop and is it true I can get TV on it? What TV Tuner would you recommend? Will the reception be terrible? Thanks for any help.

Yes, you need a tuner card (USB seeing as there's no PCI slots to use in laptops). We only have digital terrestrial TV (DTT) in a sprinkling of the country right now but an analogue tuner is almost guaranteed to work.

Avoid Freeview products as these are aimed at the DTT system in the UK. Ireland will use a different system when DTT finally gets off the ground here for real.

You could also get an external card for satellite if you'd prefer a wider range of channels but this is not much good when you're on the move for the obvious reason.
