Internet Legal threat

In light of the recent "Legal threat = Site ban" post thingy.

I'd like to ask what are the implications/issues with making a legal threat over a public internet forum such as boards?

Personally I don't think a public forum is a correct place to do such a thing.
But I'm wondering how would it affect a case and are there any specific laws regarding data protection or the like which would cover such a case.

    Opinions only please...

The issue is that the website belongs to them, and if they wish to make it a condition of use for the website that you cannot threaten legal action then it is perfectly in their rights to do so. Essentially it seems to be boards policy not to get involved in such disputes and the easiest way of doing this is by banning people who threaten legal action.

That said, I reserve my right to claim that Victor is in breach of any number of laws at any given time.

    hey johnny skellington.
    I can understand that.

I'm wondering how actually posting a legal threat would affect the actual strength (if you will) of the case...

Last I heard commenting and reporting on cases on radio and television was a no no. Is there a similar situation with internet communication.

(don't know much about Victor but I'm all for it in principal.)

It wouldn't really. Regarding commenting on a case, that rule only applies when a case is actually before the court, so commenting prior to the commencement of proceedings is fine (from that point of view).

But to do that you'd have to buy a "penthouse" apartment for a ridiculous price. To get revenge on the skeleton, Victor had to forsake all he believed in....
