    From Microsoft.com...

    Can I uninstall DirectX?

No. It's an integral part of the Windows operating system and cannot be removed.

ok fair enough but i would like some help with this please, i dont have a directx10 compatible motherboard and i have been having problems with various games for a year or so know.

i downloaded kotar2 last night and couldn't get it to run
    Vista32bit
    4gb ram
    nvidia 8800gtx
    quadcore 3.04ghz

i got the first kotor to run no problem, so pissed off that kotor2 would install but not run i went out and bought kotor2 (for the 4th ****ing time *sigh* - one copy is in canada another is broken another is on loan to a friend and another went missing after i moved last week) i even got taxi to the square waiting in game 26 mins in the queue! - stress

got home same problem (i thought it could have been a problem with the downloaded version ((us version) so i picked up eu version) - same problem

i have got this game running before on vista - compatibility mode/run as administrator did not work

question: i want to install directx9.03c (or whatever the current version is)

samehow direct x 10 is causing kotor to say my nividia grapihxs drivers are out of date (they are current but i reinstalled just to be sure - same problem)

Has anyone encountered something simmilar or a way around this?
    Thanks

Have you tried an earlier version of the graphics driver?

I've never heard of a MB being incompatible with DirectX. It's usually the graphics card.

Vista and it do not get on, by all accounts.

Most fixes here relating to Vista problems suggest replacing a certain .dll file.

Give a few a read, beforehand though.
