    who the hell was voting?

    The customers of some internet bank called 'Smile', so they've really got the pulse of the British public there... {disengage sarcasm mode}

EDIT - Just realised upon reading that they voted Spike Milligan amongst their least favourite. Hope the bank goes under.

Jo Brand's a legend! What lies!

Given that I've never heard of 'em they're probably a small bank. So let's all hope/pray to applicable deity (or lack thereof)/karmatic force that the current financial climes destroy them. Seems reasonable. :P

After watching Russell Brand for an hour, I can't believe he's not top of the bad list. All he did was talk about women he shagged for the whole show! Did you know he has sex a lot? Hilaroius! Now, imagine making a career of those stories....:(

Why in hell is Al Murray on the favourite list and not Billy Connolly, Michael McIntyre, Johnny Vegas and Benny Hill.. The mind f***in boggles.

It should've been titled: 'The Best and Worst Comedians for Anyone Under the Age of 16'.

Most of those comedians in the top list are the type who've thrived off silly voices and slapstick. Nothing wrong with that, but the 'best'? Izzard's in the right place though. He's a rarity for comedy, and deserves to be in the 'top' list.

I think because the poll was conducted by a bank, they're most likely going for safe comedy, so that no one calls up the bank cranky about curse words.

Just like Bill Cosby to Eddie Murphy:

I was just about to say how Michael McIntyre should be on the least favourite.

He's my least favourite person in the world

Jo Brand ? Funny ? Her stand up career is based on jokes about being fat,no one wanting to shag her, periods and men being useless!..........Yawn!

Stewart Lee, Jon Richardson and Robin Ince are definitely in my top 5.

Worst comedians...Jimmy Carr (dull comedy, poor delivery - as if he's reading from a joke book), Ricky Gervais, Ross Noble.

I watched Russell Brand's Scandalous the other day and turned it off after 30 mins.
    Absolute rubbish.
@etho have to agree with Jimmy Carr

Totally agree with Stewart Lee - i've only really heard of him this weekend, and spent a few hours checking him out. So so funny. He really is a cut above most of the stuff we see. I dont know the other two you mentioned but i'll check them out.

On topic - yes, that list is a joke. But to be honest, so is any 'top ten' anyone cares to mention.
