    Hey :)

Been playing guitar for years now but only to quite a basic level and usually alone in my bedroom. Fancy getting into it a bit more now and trying to learn more but i don't know anyone else who plays and it's boring practising by myself.

Thought there might be others out there in the same boat who might fancy gettin together once every week or two to play a few songs and share a few tips!?

If this sounds like something that might be of interest to ya then drop me a line and we can chat about it a bit more.

    Caroline :)

Hi tippydippy, if you give people a few more details you might get more responses.
For instancewhat songs are you currently playing, what type of music in general do you listen to, do you want to meet people somewhere neutral, do you only want other beginners or do you want to play with better players in the hope of picking things up, etc.

Hey, i'm just looking for other fellow guitarists to jam and practice with too. Nothing too serious, just for a laugh and improve skill.

What kind of music are you into?
Lately i've been into a lot of folky stuff listening to Josh Ritter, Jack Johnson, John Butler and the likes...

Anyway, lemme know if interested... I'm really bored practicing myself too!
Oh and do you have a place to practice/jam perchance?

Thanks for all your replies. Im in Blanchardstown but have a car so am happy to travel a bit.

I play acoustic guitar- like a wide range of music - at the moment I'm enjoyin playin Ray Lamontagne, Keane, Jack Johnson, Snow Patrol, Declan O'Rourke... but i'm openminded about playin new types of music.

Now the part of this i really hadnt thought through was where we could do this... I don't know anywhere public we could play and im guessin its a bit weird to go to someones house you dont know...any suggestions?!
If there's any other information you'd like just let me know... I'm 28 (if that matters?!)

Maybe we could get a bunch of guitarists together and have a meet up at some spot in a park? Like the Stephen's Green or something...

Just a thought... I doubt it'ld be too weird if we can get like a group of 3-4 guitarists together and then maybe once a week we could meet up there and play n practice n teach other... Like a little guitar club kinda thing...

Dunno how well it'ld work though...

Well just to warn yiz lads you'll be kicked out of stephens green or merrion square if you start playing music. Went there once with acoustics to jam with a fellow musician, weren't bothering anyone or playing loud- then the park ranger or whatever the fup made us leave- public parks are not for recreation it seems..

He he... Join the club. I got booted out of the green myself a few years back. was just about to start a few reels with a fiddlin mate of mine, but the warden wouldn't have any of it.

I quite like the idea of sitting around with a few guitars and see what happens, so would definitely be interested. Unfortunately I'll be away next week, coming back towards the end of January, so I'll have to catch up then. We might be able to use my place in city centre if needed.

I haven't really tried to play Jack Johnson and Josh Ritter too much yet, but I quite like this style. I also quite like Ben Harper, James Taylor and such.

So looks like public parks don't quite like the idea of adding some music to their buzz.
I'm sure there's gotta be some place in town where you could like meet up once a week or something to have a jam...
