Does this sound like an alignment issue?

    Hi,

I'm running my Freesat setup through my PC (specs at end of post if you're familiar with HTPC setups) so I might not be able to do all of any of the suggested checks people on here have. However, I recently setup my freesat system, and it's working fine-ish. I get most channels but for some reason ITV comes through (in Vista media center) as this blocky yellow stuttery mess. Viewing it through a different media center program provides a little better image but it's still unwatchable.

Channel 4, E4, Film 4 etc are not present at all, in either media program.

Does this choppy, glitchy ITV and non-appearing CH4 sound like an alignment issue?

PC specs: Vista 32 with TV pack applied, 1 gig GFX 4850, 4 gig RAM, 1TB HDD, new system about a month old.

With info you supplied i can say your pC is good for playing games. :) Thats it.

What Sat card do you use? What software? What is the signal quality? You have up to date transponders? What codec for a/v you are using, What HD codec you have installed?

Sorry, forgot the important card info.

I'm running a HVR4000 which is supposed to have issues with Vista Media Center + TV Pack but all channels (bar the problem ones) are working for me and I think that when that card exhibits the problems it has, it's more of a 'all or nothing' type thing. Either it works or it doesn't, so I think it's not a card compatibility issue, I hope anyway.

Software is either Vista MCE (32bit version, with TV pack and hacked DLL applied). Or Media Portal (latest build). MP's reception of ITV is far better than MCE, almost watchable but it still hangs slightly and the image degrades / goes blocky often enough to annoy.

Signal quality, as reported by MP is good but TBH I'm not that familiar with how MP works and when it's doing it's scan of all the different transponders it seems to get good signal quality for most of them, occasionally it reports nothing but then I assume that's cause I'm not connected to that particular transponder (my lack of sat knowledge is apparent here, so please feel free to correct me)
Vista MCE reports no signal strength / quality, at least I can't find it anyway, but obviously it does find the channels though.

Codecs, I got the combined community codecs and have'nt installed any others, should I for HD or does that cover them?

Thanks for the quick reply by the way, hope I can sort this channel issue soon.
