All I want for Christmas is Your Da :D

What do you want this Christmas be it something specifically nice to happen or to receive from OH/friends or even something your looking forward to giving :)

Its December the 1st so I thought it would be appropriate in the next 3 weeks to get a survey of what the ladies/lads are wishing for this Christmas

I’m looking forward to Christmas morning with the OH and the look on his face when I give him his presents
I’m hoping my new niece or nephew will arrive on time too (due 27th Dec)

(I’ll edit this later I’m going for breakfast)

My parents are coming to stay with us in NZ and we're going travelling around the south island pluc having a sunny bbq for Christmas dinner... the best thing of all they're paying for it all because the euro makes them loaded.

Having them over is the best present ever. :)

My OH and I don't do surprise present. We go shopping together and pick things we like out. It's great because I get exactly what I want. We usually for for a nice meal after the shopping as a Christmas treat.

as cheesy as this sounds, i'm looking forward to a nice relaxing christmas with family and friends.

a lot of **** has happened to my family and myself over this year and with college being the icing on the perverbal ****cake it will be nice to just relax and watch nephews open "santa presents" and being able to capture that with my camera is what i really want for christmas.

Have to agree with Creamy there, I don't want anything in particular. Just looking forward to the time to breathe!!!:D

Why do you want my da op? Why would you break up a family, and at christmas? *sobs uncontrollably*

*ahem* I know what I want for christmas, but can't say it out loud in case it doesn't come true. (Sopir sekrit)

Two weeks at home with the family, using my little brother as an excuse to watch a massive amount of kids movies :)

I'm looking forward to having nothing to do. Work has been very busy lately and a bit stressful so a nice break from that will work a treat.

Looking forward to my first Christmas as a photographer and the never ending challenge of "how can i take photos of Christmas that no one else has taken".

Top of my list is just spending time with the girlfriend.

I'm excited to go home for the first time in a year and a half and see my family. I'm also really hoping for warm weather, so that we can go to the beach and to Seaworld/Aquatica.

Not that much of a sekrit.

I don't really want/need anything. Family are having a secret santa thing this year, and because of people moving house/going travelling and all that, we'll probably all end up with a load of vouchers!

I'm really looking forward to spending Christmas with my boyfriend and his family. Did the same last year and had a really good time.

Ah Christmas, lovely food and drink, and loads of reading by the fire. Cannot wait!

For the first time in 8 years I have a christmas off work and my little brother is coming home from Australia for a months holiday so any presents after that will be a bonus. ( I have hinted for a pink Blackberry though!!)

Well, what with my mother working, my dad doing his phd, and me being at college, it's a rare occasion for the five of us to be in the same room for an hour, let alone a whole day, so I'm really looking forward to that :) also my sister turned 18 in september so I'm looking forward to being able to grab a few quiet drinks with her at some point.

As for presents, whatever I get is grand, money's tight this year for everyone, kinda glad it won't be giftmas for once. All I asked for was a couple pairs of new jeans. Split with the boyfriend recently, pity, he's great at presents :( last year he copied and wrote out the track listing for 100 cds for me, and put em all in one of those big CD flip book things, with little notes every couple of pages-the ultimate thoughtful present :) he gave me books and stuff as well, but it's the CDs I'll remember

I'm just looking forward to a couple of weeks of peace. I've been so stressed over college lately I just can't wait to be able to relax, even for a little while.

That said - if someone buys me a pair of New Balance 768 running shoes, size 7.5, I'd be a very happy kirby!

I'm really happy I don't have to spend Christmas with the family this year!
Did it last year and it will do me for another 3 :p

Also I don't have an OH and in tru recession spirit I have asked all my friends NOT to buy me any presents and I won't buy them anything either.
I will send them all nice X-mas cards tho!
So it's a very relaxing time ahead of me indeed. Don't have to go out to elbow around in the Christmas shopping frenze.
    Phew!

I don't get too bothered about getting presents and that. To be honest it's nice to get a break and just unwind with friends and family. All the crew are usually home so it's he one time of year when we're actually all together.

I'm just looking forward to having my first exam free Christmas and new years in 4 years. That does it for me to be honest, the rest is all a bonus!

I'm looking forward to getting out riding on frosty mornings and meeting old friends.

Its also the first Christmas I'm single in 6 years. I always found that time of year really stressful for the old relationship.

Materially, I'd love an SLR camera but I'll buy that for myself sometime. Presents aren't a big thing in our house. Fairly low key kriskindle and the niblings are the focus of the day now.

I honestly don't want anything. Just a nice, relaxing family Christmas like we have every year, I love Christmas at home. My brother will be in Australia for it this year so it's going to be a strange one without him :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 197 ✭✭hazeler

This year is the first year my OH, my daughter and I are all living in the one house! We moved into our new house in September and now finally, we're in our first proper home together. So for me, Christmas this year is about all of us waking up on Christmas morning together. :D

I can't wait to see what Santa brings!!! and do the "Christmas morning gift opening" ceremonies all together at one time. We usually are all over the county for Christmas day so this year I cannot wait to be in one spot with the people that mean the most to me in the world. Maybe it will snow?? then it really would be the best Christmas of all time!!!

I'm really getting into the spirit of things now, there was something about last Sunday that seemed Xmassy somehow!!

At the moment I'm loving buying the pressies for everybody; even the little shítty things; putting thought and time into them etc.

My granny is way better now, things were looking bad there for a while, so it'll be great to have her fit for Christmas.

Ilove all the nights out around Chritmas too, everybody is in such good form and so merry, its great:D

This is my first not single Christmas for a couple of years, which is nice but strange perhaps, still, hes back Christmas week and I can't wait to see him, and be with him and all the rest:D

I don't care what he gets for me for Christmas; I'm happy just to get him;)

i would like Shane Horgan for Christmas. *stares beseechingly up the chimney* PLEASE Santy please!

anyway failing that huge hairy beast of a man not being naked under my tree with a strategically placed bow i'm hugely looking forward to catching up with all my mates Stephens night. We're all scattered all over the globe but make the effort for this to be the one night a year when we're all together.

This Christmas I'm just looking forward to 'being'. I'll be with my family, both immediate and extended (there's gazillions in my step family) and it'll be great to catch up with everyone, eat too much, drink a little, watch lots of movies and spend some quality time with my bro.

2008 has been fairly crazy and a bit of a rollercoaster, and the Christmas holidays will be the first time I'll have had a chance to chillax properly in an age.

    Should be glorious :o

Spend time with the extended family. Drink all day with with said family, especially cousins and uncles. Tuck into some lovely Christmas dinner with my parents and brother. Not too bothered about presents this year. I'd love to get away with eating a load of crap and still making weight for trials after new years... :p

Well seeing as I have 2 baby nieces celebrating their first Christmas this year, I'm looking forward being around the family even more than usual this year. Should be fun, even if they're too young to know what's going on.

And a late addition to my wishlist is an earlier appointment with my orthopaedic surgeon so he can operate on my knee and get me properly back on my feet again. Gonna be a very quiet Christmas this year. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,776 ✭✭✭✭fits

I had a knee operation (ACL recon) just before Christmas in 2002. Never looked back since.
Its actually not such a bad time to get it done. Best of luck with it!

what are you having done Zaph??

    ACL?? In Santry??

Why don't you ring his secretary and ask her to ring you if he gets any cancellations between now and Xmas?? They'd be more than happy to fill the slot!!!

Cheers fits. I've actually had 7 knee ops already over the years (don't ask!), but this is something new (torn cartilage), and I have to wait until mid-January to see my surgeon. Wouldn't mind if it was before Christmas just to get it out of the way.

EDIT: He's in the Beacon manuka, and I'm on the cancellation list so hopefully something will come up sooner. I could possibly have gone somewhere else sooner, but given my past history I'd prefer to have teh same guy operate again.

I know whose doing your surgery nyehnyehnyehnyehnyehnyeh:D

Well you're in good hands!! And torn cartilage is pretty straight forward; I've seen guys walk out of theatre after a repair like that!! Very Small incisions too, and very little pain once the swelling subsides.

    Best of luck with it!!

Yeah, he put both knees back together a couple of years ago, so I know he's good. It's only a little job in comparison to the ones I've already had done. I've had one keyhole op before and I was grand in a couple of days, so I'd expect something similar. Doesn't add much to the impressive scars I already have there, which is a shame. I'm told chicks dig them. :D
    Best of luck with it!!

    Thanks :)
