Hi,

I recently bought a Welltech Radio Transmission Set from Lidl. It is working very well but I cannot get the remote control (sky) to operate on the receiver set.

I am not sure what to do with the infrared cable - I have just plugged it in to its connection port (7).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Ace

Try placing the infrared red emitter end of the Welltech cable in line with the Infrared receiver window of the Sky box. Some of these gadgets need to point at the original device's receiver, others bounce the signal off the walls. So fiddle about with the position a bit.

Worst case, the gadget cannot relay the Sky Infra-Red signal.

Place the Transmitter's IR module at front of Sky box.

Use Sky remote pointed at the Receiver unit .

There are 4 video channels at 2.4GHz, but only one reverse direction Remote channel at about 433.08MHz. A wireless weather station, Wireless headphones or a next door Video sender can all use the same remote channel, thus blocking your remote.

Only some UPC boxes remote don't work with video senders. All makes of Video Senders are very similar and will work with Sky box/Remote.

Hi Ace,

I'm having the same problem so am wondering exactly what you did ?
The IR cable has 3 diodes on it - do you stick one or all of these to front panel of Sky Box ? On/near IR Sensor on Sky Box ?
I've tried this without success (yes - I am using Sky Remote Control on Receiver in the other room).

Hi Rockyd,

I stuck one of the 3 sensors on the front of the Sky box beside the "remote" sensor. I also placed the receiver where I can point my remote control directly at it.

It then worked fine.

Quick question - will this work with a Sky + HD box? I know it won't be HD, but if it works it'd come in handy.

I also bought one of these and a professional sky installer gave up on it after a few minutes.. I had a go after he went and within 10 minutes got great pictures and sound but no sky+ remote response. After a bit of research of other systems on web I found one that said theirs would not receive remote instructions if the ‘sender’ is sat directly on top of the equipment ie. TV or sky box. I had tried putting the nodes all over the place but no response so I thought this is a bit daft but tried moving the unit, in fact I just put a bit of wood beneath it and hay presto worked great. The nodes are now piled on top nowhere near the sensor on front, and still works.:D

I'd like ask a few questions about this...

1. Is this the gadget for receiving TV signals in another room without a set top box?

2. If it is for the TV, can you watch one channel on the TV directly connected to the STB, and watch another channel on the TV getting the wireless signal?
