Ok so at the last beers we had five people....

Myself, Princess_Lou, 440Hz, JohnK and Mik_da_man (read his name very carefully!!!)

I'm curious though, for the rest of you would you actually be up for attending a Cork beers sometime or have you no interest? It is hard to know how many Cork people are the boards beers type...

Someone once asked was it possible to have 10 at a Cork beers....well we have a total of 5 so far.....so come on and post here if you genuinely would attend one...We don't bite!! I promise!

Have attended a couple. Barely anyone at them. It's a difficult job mustering up enthusiasm. For one we had great hopes but they died out as it got closer to the event.

I like beer but am off and a few other things for a few weeks as a personal experiment. What you need is a really really pretty intelligent chick who's into anime, that'd definitely persuade me to resume habits.

I would be up for it, if I wasn't the only girl!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,986 ✭✭✭Red Hand

    Sure, I would go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,739 ✭✭✭✭minidazzler

Probably, but it would have to be a good enough bar. and on a night that suits me.

What sort of age group would we be talking about.

Would ye be talking about acne, college, kids or bingo?

I'd be on for it if I was in Cork at the time. Have a feeling I might be a bit older than you lot though, but a beer is a beer!

Though I could always slink away claiming I have to polish my zimmer frame or something.

At the last meetup there were 3 guys and two girls......

If you want pm me your age and I will tell you if you are within the age group of the 5 people who turned up last time...Unless everyone is happy posting their ages here?

Seeing as we went to a bar you have probably already realised that their was noone below the legal drinking age there.....

    I am 25 :(

No comment.....I would not have the cheek to ask a lady her age! That is a slappable offence and very dangerous territory. I would however ask a lady on a date or for her phone number or for a nice cup of tea etc :D

When I read that a word came to mind but I couldn't quiet remember what it was, been a while since I used it! I had to look it up :p
    gen⋅tle⋅man [jen-tl-muhn]
    1. a man of good family, breeding, or social position.
    2. a civilized, educated, sensitive, or well-mannered man: He behaved like a true gentleman.

ps: apologies to other nice gentlemen reading that! ;)

So the lads on somewhere but not you. Funny that in a previous post you claimed to be a lad. Your web of lies is slowly untangling.:D

And as for Kingtut, you tell 440hz to expect a PM from me but not from you. This leads me to belive that you have been sending PMs to 440hz:cool:

hmmm....as 440Hz said it depends on what you want to play!! If you want to go to the Cork Christmas beers please say so in that thread...pick the dates that suit you etc..... cheers

Oh, how the way has been lost since the days when beers were basically an excuse for adam, JohnK, Niall and myself to go on the tear and pretend we could handle an Old Fashioned at the end of a long night's drinking....

(that said, the Bierhaus is a good call for the venue what with the range of beverages available)

    Hi,

I just stumbled across this forum and was wondering if anyone can come to these nights...I'm new to the Cork area and am really keen to meet new people and a few drinks in a pub sounds like the ideal place to do it! When's the next meeting planned for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,488 ✭✭✭kingtut

Hi Laura as the original creator of this beers thread I would like to welcome you and say thank you for stopping by! Welcome to Cork also! I hope you are enjoying it so far......The next meet up will probably be at the Christmas beers (see the thread relating to it in the same forum as this one).

The good thing about this thread is that you can go for beers whenever you like. Just post a comment saying something like "Does anyone fancy a few drinks tonight / on Friday etc" and see what happens.

If you are concerned about meeting a large crowd of strangers then I can meet you beforehand if you wish and also show you where the place is (I do not know how well you know Cork seeing as you just moved here). At the last beers there was only 5 of us but everyone was really really friendly!
