I have a Fisher & Paykel one which has 2 drawers so you can do a half load at a time. It suits us because a lot of the time there's only 2 of us for dinner.
I've never had a dishwasher before this so I can't compare with other makes.

We're on our second Siemens, the first one we had for about 7 years, and only got a new one because we were getting a new kitchen a couple of years back, but we gave it away and it's still going strong.

Go for one that has a pre wash function. According to ones mother it is essential.

Knowing nothing about these things I can only assume she is right as she has a rather expensive Bosch one in the garage gathering dust because she didn't realise it didn't have a pre wash function, nor how much of a difference it made. Took her a few years to realise what was wrong with the bosch one compared to her older one.

At the mo she has an Electolux ESI6105 http://www.applianceshopping.co.uk/product/ESI6105.html

I just asked her there now and once again she tried to fob the Bosch one off one me. Bless her :)
