Thinking of getting a laptop (mostly for college), I've narrowed it down to 2 and I'd like to know which one people here would be more likely to buy and why.

Personally I avoid Intel Celeron Chips.

Out of the two you have shown I'd go for the Tos but i don't know much about AMD processors.

Try going into Dell under small business and have a look at the Vostro range? I have had good experiances with that Dell range. Good prices too. There is also a Dell thread for note books on the Bargain board somewhere.

Depends on your budget but the Toshiba satellite pro i have now is not as good as the Dell latitude that i had. It seems very slow in comparison for the same specs.
