    Hi,

I've just got a new laptop in work, its a dell latitude D600, I think its about 4 years old. Anyway I have wireless broadband at home and after checking the laptop it appears that there is no wireless card built in like my sisters so I'll have to buy one.

I've been told you can get a card or also a USB key that does the same job for cheaper. I really don't know what I'm on about and don't want to walk into the shop and end up paying for something I don't need. I tried looking on the internet but theres just so many! Can anyone recommend one?

The D600 has a PC Card slot, and assuming you're not using that for anything, that's the way to go. The USB keys are awkward and stick out, and can get dislodged or damaged if you aren't careful. You should be fine if you ask for a PC Card Wireless N adapter, the type that is about the size of a couple of credit cards staked up.

I don't have a particular brand to recommend, other folks may have an opinion on what's on the market today.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

I agree with bnt, steer clear of the usb wireless cards if at all possible they are fairly slow and unreliable. Also I have found belkin to fairly poor brand for wireless gear, D-link would be my preferred option for home connectivity.
