Fued of the Year 2008

Ok, so what do you reckon was the best fued of 2008?

The criteria you base your vote on are your own, you can explain them if you want but it's not necessary for you to do so if you don't want to. If someone doesn't want to, that's their business, don't have a go. Keep it civil when discussing peoples choices too.

The voting system is simple. Vote for your top 3. First place gets 5 points, second place gets 3 points and 3rd place gets 1 point. At the end we tally the points and count a winner.

So away we go folks! :)

    You mean Awesome Kong?
I'd agree with you on your third pick.

And finally, why can't people spell M-I-C-H-A-E-L-S correctly?!

    Y2J v HBK
    Orton v Jeff
Matt Hardy v Mark Henry....(I only watch WWE so was struggling for options!)

michael is actually my middle name but I've pulled 2 all nighters in a row and am preparing for my third, hence that and the other mistake.
    Matt Hardy v Mark Henry
The introduction of Atlas made that feud seem alot better outside of the ring than it was

    1. Beer Money v LAX
    2. Jay Lethal v Sonjay Dutt
    3. Kurt Angle v AJ Styles

Yes i know, they're all TNA primarily because WWE bored me completely bandy this year.

My middle name too, ironically so is Shawn my real christian name, only spelt slightly differently! Don't even get me started on the amount of abuse i took for it over the years.

Sorry for the slight off topic folks.

Yeah fair point but to be fair I was pleasantly surprised with Mark in this feud. The matches were all good, the crowd were really behind Matt and Mark got lots of heel job so job done for me! I honestly can’t think of any good feuds from the WWE this year so I had to scratch about thinking of a third.

How could you rate Sonjay and Lethal over Kong and Kim. Especially with So Cal's insane heel turn and that tux match

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,454 ✭✭✭TripleAce

    Santino vs Honky Donk Man

Just down to personal preference. The ending of Dutt/Lethal was ass-backwards, nobody can deny that, but I never let a bad ending ruin a decent story beforehand. I just got bored of Kong running roughshot over everyone that it got to the point where i didn't care anymore. The knockouts division was starting to wear down by the time Kong was ready to lose the belt.

Of course, i haven't watched TNA in about 2 months, and haven't read anything about it here either, but if anything interesting had happened, i'm sure it would have been posted here.

1.Ric Flair's one match away from retirement saga.
    2.Shawn Michaels v. Chris Jericho
    3.MVP v Matt Hardy

In my honest opinion, the retirement angle for the most part (I want to forget the Flair v HHH ending on New Years Eve) was brilliantly built, entailed fine promo's and culminated in a very atmospheric match at WM24. And led the foundation for HBK's homerun of brilliant feuds with Jericho and Batista. Absolutely awesome.

Yeah I was afraid of that, maybe I can rephrase it to Ric Flair v HBK/Kennedy/MVP/HHH/Randy Orton/Regal/McMahon?:D:pac:

    1. The Briscoes Vs Age Of The Fall
Consistent balls to the wall matches which have evolved from flipz and movez to outright brawls, and I am loving it.

    2. AJ Vs Angle
Started as total comedy nonsense but ended in a decent fud.

    3. Roderick Strong Vs Erick Stevens.
Hated this at the start, but then at SCOH III their effort blew me away entirely so I looked back at the feud and yes, it was great. What more is I have not yet seen their blow off match.

    2. Main Event Mafia vs. TNA
    3. LAX vs. Beer Money Inc.

I dont think feuds are meant to be totally one sided. ;)

i thought hbk/jericho would walk this as it should, nothing has come even remotely close to this feud this year in either tna or wwe, great matches, great promos, not to mention the fact that it elevated jericho from midcard in may to champion by september and many peoples picks for superstar of the year

struggling after that, lethal and dutt, matt hardy and mvp miles behind for me

Assuming you don't judge women's wrestling on the same curve as men's wrestling, Awesome Kong and Gail Kim certainly challenges it. It was the best women's feud ever, Jericho Micheals was nowhere near the best feud ever

in match quality terms Manami Toyota and Aja Kong takes this title easily

Before my time but I'll assume that it's from japan so I think it would be fair to call Kong vs. Kim the best women's feud in American wrestling ever

Add to the fact that it was dragged out for waaaaay too long. You can only do the same guys in different matches for so long before you want people to move on. I know a handful of people could have watched that feud go on for six months (some even suggested to keep it going until Mania), but on a personal level, it put me to sleep.

Sorry but I should have said this in my prevous post the feud went to ****e after the brillant Summerslam angle IMO. Having the Ladder stipulation made no sense storyline wise.

Ah i knew what you meant dude, they had it all set up so well with Jericho smacking Rebecca. They could have capitalised on that so much better and for whatever reason, it didn't happen.

    1.) HBK / Batista
    2.) Angle / Joe
    3.) Edge / Undertaker

wwe do that alot though, finish up a feud by putting the wrestler in his signature match, taker in a casket match or HIAC, edge in TLC etc
