Ok dilema here. Organsing a stag trip for a mate for next October/November. A lot of places have been suggested. Lads want to go all over the place.

We have shortened the list to one of the following:

    Krakow
    Prague
Berlin (or some other German city)
    Newcastle
    Somewhere in mainland Spain.

Any folk on here make any recomendations on the best place to go. Any experiences good or bad of any of the places mentioned.

    Any help much appreciated.

If it's a large group, I would advise against Krakow. They are painfully aware there of becoming the next Temple Bar and they've seen it happen in Prague too.

Most German cities are great for groups of lads, Hamburg as mentioned, Munich, Berlin. I had my stag just outside Dussledorf and it was excellent.

I believe Newcastle is excellent for nights out, but I've never been...

Nice is good for large groups too. They don't really get stag parties down there, so it's not a problem. Went down with my rugby club earlier this year and it was fantastic, but we did a lot of groundwork in terms of advance warning to the places we were likely to hit! Between Ryanair and pokey hotels, you can get away quite cheaply down there.

Firstly I'm a girl so eh- sorry but haven't actually experienced any of these as part of a stag but I actually work for a travel website & I wrote a blog on Stag parties & where to go last week. It might be a bit of use for ideas :)

    Here is my blog: http://travelideas.livejournal.com/tag/stag+party

    Good luck with your planning.

No contest there really, Munich for Oktoberfest (the end being preference).

Get it all organised early as possible, flights and accomodation (and tent bookings) before the end of Jan.

Mix between the Oktoberfest and the city bars.

prague mate... awesaome... the girls, the prices, the atmosphere, the city itself is darn cool... i went for my mates stag doo and it was that good we left the bugger there... well he missed his flight (too busy in one of the strip clubs...)

oktoberfest would be a cool place tho... like the guy above says. book that bad boi early tho... been once n it like theres a hole in my life where my brain used to be... the beer is great in germany! bottles as big as your arm! you'd even have time to learn German before then... easy language, kinda same as english n if you hit any probs (police) you can talk ya way outa it, also foreigners are well more receptive to you if you can talk a little, even if its just hello n thanks etc... seriously opens doors when abroad!

id def hit Newcastle tho for a pre stag warm up... or perhaps fly from there... its one of the best cities in the UK to go drinking... rows of bars n clubs down the key side...

how many people are you? book early for them discounts! enjoy n try not to loose your groom! not good explainin that to the bride to be...

    I also suggest Krakow

Krakow would be good but they don't like stag parties over there due to damage and general antics by some previous parties.

Its quite likely your large groups of lads will be turned away from bars so just take that into consideration when choosing (its can be a pain going into places in small groups). Lovely city though and fantastic selection of bars.

    Madrid.

    Great nightlife + cheap.

If you want somewhere different try Vilnius in Lithuania. I was there a few months back and it was brilliant. I know the idea of Lithuania conjures up images of the Iron Curtain and the back of beyond but it's a really beautiful city.
It's going to be the European City of Culture next year and they get the Euro too so there'd be no hassle exchanging money. Food and Drink is ridiculously cheap. All the women are amazing and they're also starting to target the Stags and Hen party market, although when I was over there I didn't see any so it's not a case of Temple Bar on a weekend.
