Dell Vostro A860 laptop - basic package only comes with 1mb RAM

Hello heads,

Thinking of getting a Dell Vostro A860 laptop - basic package only comes with 1mb RAM and no RAM for that model listed on Dell website, so can compatible RAM be bought or could i be snookered and stuck with a 1 RAM slow laptop.
Forgive a novices' lack of knowledge, any and all info appreciated,

just to note, it comes with 1GB of RAM. Not just 1mb. But as mentioned upgrading the RAM is easily done, and cheap these daays.

Does anyone know if this comes with 1 gb of ram or 2 x 500mb?

Basically, can I just buy a 1gb stick and throw it in to make it 2gb or will I have to do something more elaborate?

looking at that crucial reply, you could upgrade to 4gb ram for about 35 bucks , which is cheap as chips for that amount of ram.
its also simple to install it .

It comes with 1GB of RAM using 1 slot so there is an empty slot for expansion, laptop arrived yesterday. Just so anyone else with the same question will know in the future.

Just wondering as a newbie - If you install memory yourself, will this void your dell warranty? i.e. are there any stickers/seals you have to break?

Or, if you needed to send it back to dell, could you just put back the old memory?
