I think I saw this one yonks ago but I don't remember any massacre with a chainsaw, maybe there is but I just forgot, anyway was thinking about watching it or one of it's siblings but I'm not going to bother if there is no butchery with a chainsaw,

is there any ? /fingers crossed

i wouldn't saw there's a massacre with a chainsaw, but there is some butchery. not much but some. cuts off the odd limb here and there, though i often get the original and remake confused so not sure which is worse. the newer one me thinks. either way the chainsaw action isn't all that bad.

you can't beat the original and for the love of god stay away from the sequels , they're truely awful.Especially generations which has mathew mcogny as a psycho that needs a tv remote control to operate his electric leg.Think rene "anteater" zellweiger is in it too.Think the remakes are alright, worth a watch if only for lee emery.

there was definitely a chainsaw. no massacring but the odd limb here and there. one of them definitely had a scene where
the dude that was doing all the killing was chasing a guy / or girl through the garden and when they were running passed the washing line he hacks their leg off with the chainsaw...

The 2nd one with Dennis Hopper is actually not too shabby, goes into the history and story behind the family, the sequels areant too bad I think, the remakes were verly decent bar that generations one,my god

Original = Bona Fide horror classic
Sequel = Pretty good with some nice gore/nastiness.Much harsher than the original IMO.
Part 3 = :-/ Been a long while since I seen it but the only version available is cut to ribbons. The original version of the movie was apparently very violent and the distributers werent impressed and insisted it was heavily edited.AFAIK there was something in the region of 3 to 5 minutes of gore cut from it and an accident in the editing room led to the original negatives been destroyed and lost forever.
Next Generation = Made it about an hour in and turned it off.Avoid it like a whoore with the pox.
The remake + the beginning = Typical remake fare TBH.Personally I thought they were garbage but thats just me with the majority of remakes anyway.

Moral of the story.Watch the original and its sequel again.

The rest, take em or leave em.

Yeah that was in the remake. I thought it was a really good effort.

The original is class. And there certainly is a massacre of one individual -
The guy in the wheelchair that get sawn in half right down the middle from the top of his head down. OUCH!
