My hair is dyed jet black and I was thinking about going blonde. I was wondering if I would turn out brassy and uneven as I would like a light blonde..

Any advice or opinions would be helpful..

Im in the same situation and went to 4 different hairdressers who wouldnt touch me with a barge pole :o. They all said it would take numerous attempts and would ruin my hair. I eventually found someone who has started doing small amounts of high lights every few weeks. On my third attempt and its going lighter at last. Id love to know how the celebs do it though..monday theyre black and by friday theyre blonde

    ^ ^ ^ Celebs use weaves or wigs. :)

I was in the same boat, had dyed jet black hair and wanted to go lighter. Spent the whole day at the hairdressers getting my hair lightened by a few shades, as they wouldn't go any lighter than mid-brown. Got it to my natural colour and then proceed to grow it out before getting it any lighter... took forever but was worth it in the end. From now on I'll never dye my hair black, if I want it dark then I'll go darkest brown as its easier to strip later on.

    Hi,

I was in the same boat as you there last year.... I had been blonde 5 years before hand so knew the colour would suit me, so wasnt too scared of going so light. Went to Peter Marks and they totally stripped my hair from the black colour, ended up bright orange (which was normal) Then they highlighted it and put in some lowlights....
I was basically told it was a huge risk as I would be putting soooo many chemicals into it. I was also told that alot of hairdressers dont like doing it and it can destroy your hair.... I ended up buying very expensive conditioners and treatments to keep it in tip top condition.... I have really looked after my hair and it's in good condition....
