disabling the touchpad while typing

I'm using an eee pc 1000h and everytime I type something my hand touches the touchpad and that sends the cursor somewhere else and ruins what I just typed. Is there anything out there or is there a shortcut key that might disable the touchpad while I'm typing. It gets very annoying while trying to type.

    Thanks

If you have installed the Elantech touchpad drivers (e.g. these), there's a setting specifically for that. Control Panel -> Mouse Properties -> Elantech tab -> Options -> Tapping.
