Whats the high you get from exercising

    So I'm just after finishing an hour of exercising, nothing too extreme mind, and am basking in the glow of a nice high, it really is very pleasant, does everybody get this and what causes it ?, am definately feeling it more than when I was doing 40 minutes, it makes me wonder why more people don't exercise

    I get it too I think it's because I feel I've acheived something instead of sitting around on my ass! not that i exercise that much mind. :rolleyes:

    Yep you cant quite beat the feeling after a good workout especially the days when you drag yourself in but once you get going its fine and when your walkin back out the door you just feel great

    Exercise has been linked to the release of endorphins which is a stuff in your brain thats are like feel good chemicals when released.

    If you enjoy it try some Ecstasy ;)

    Do a search on google you'll find a load of related stuff on it.

    I know, i myself am just back from a workout, feel bloody great! Only downside is that i feel so good i can't do my french homework! Go team! haha

    Dopamine & serotonin. I have read exercise in the morning would release/create most serotonin.

    Also adrenaline in some sports.

    Also a reason why exercise can help weight loss, you do not tend to eat as much. Low dopamine and serotonin is linked to obesity.

    Im very familiar with the high. It was always referred to as 'endorphins' by anyone I mentioned it to, but I have no idea what that means. I just like it.:)

    Way back in the day when I was training hard, if I missed a few sessions, I used to get really twitchy. It felt like withdrawal, Id be dying to get back to the gym.
