Does anybody know how much PS3s are going for up North and is that the cheapest place to get one, if not where is?

Also is there a chip that makes a PS3 backwards compatible with PS2 games?

I think the chip is called the Flux Capacitor.
It can take you back in time to November 26th 2007 when Sony Europe where selling off the last of the PAL 60GB units with PS2 compatability.

Just buy a ps3 and a ps2. You can get a new one for €50

Move on, PS2 is in the past. PS3 is the future and that new console , the Atari Jaguar.

I have a launch day PS3 with BC and I can honestly say that I have not played one single PS2 game in it since I got it.

I have a 60gb ps3. For the first time there a few weeks ago, i said i'd throw in Fifa 2003(Ps2) in. I started to play a match. I noticed how eternally crap it was so i took it out and played gta4 again. Moral of the story, just get a new ps3 and dont look back!!

I don't know how much the ps3 up north costs but you can put any chip(available) into it to make it backwards compatible, because its a software license that allows you to play ps2 games on the 60gb models of the ps3 :( It is technically able to play them but since it does'nt have the software on them to use it.
