Long legs but short tights!!

    Hi All!

Just wondering if there is anyone out there with long legs that can help?

I'm tall 5ft 11in, however most the height is relating to the long legs i have - 35 inside leg. I buy all my trousers in the tall departments but my huge problem is tights. No matter what size i buy (ie large xlarge etc) the middle always ends up half way down my thighs and i'm forever pulling them up. Lately resorted to wearing another set of knickers over the outside (batman style) to keep them up.
My question is has anyone with long legs have the same problem - have they found tights for tall ppl in the shops?
I have seen them on the internet in but i'm not sure to trust them as they cost nearly 30e including postage to get just one pair over, and they probably ladder on me!

Also to anyone with long legs - does anyone notice that if you buy 70 denier opaque tights they are still slighty see through on long legs - where as on short legs they are pretty much like leggings!!

    Hope someone can help.

    Ok sorry rant over!!!

I'd be interested in this too! I'm 5'10" as well and always have to buy tights in the biggest size I can get coz my legs are long and I have the problem of keep having to pull them up all the time too, it's so annoying! Your batman style knickers is a good idea though!! Never thought of that before!

I've a 34 inside leg and instead of sheer tights I wear hold ups. However hold ups, wrap dresses and windy days can be a disaster lol

For opaque tights I have tried Wolford (www.wolford.ie) and found them to be one of the best, however, they cost at least €30 per pair, but they do have a shop in Kildare Village.

That feeling of tights falling down is horrid.

ETA: You could also try Long Tall Sally, they sell tights for long legs and do small/medium/large so that you are not wearing xl in the hope that they will be long enough, they are less expensive too.

I'm tall too and have found the Wolfords to be the best of the lot. They are expensive but there is a great choice within the range, I love the ones they have with the pinstripe down the back and their fishnets too. They are also super strong, I usually tear a pair of tights within hours of putting them on but the Wolfords are very very strong. Finally, they stay as dark on your thigh as they do on your lower leg which is great if you're wearing a short skirt.

I've just ordered some tights on the Wolford site and received my confirmation email. Reading through it I saw that the VAT rate being charged is 19% as they are being shipped from Germany. Small and all as that saving may be but its still better than paying the few percent extra here.

Im 35 inches leg and I find the only tights that fit somewat reaosnably are pennys large tights.
Marks and Spencers are the worst, the large ones barely come up to my thighs.
