    I have a bit of money in the bank, not making a whole pile of interest...i think circa 5%,would anyone advise on buying shares now?

    Yeah I would suggest buying shares in BOI.

    Just my opinion though, but i really think it's a good idea

    I think an even better idea is to borrow €20,000 and then buy the shares.

    I also have some really cool magic beans I could sell you too if you're interested.

    What colour are the magic beans? Sounds like a safer investment than the shares.

    They are the Green ones. They are the best ones out there.
    . . . they pay no dividend, its own asset management co. is selling its shares, it has loads of declared and undeclared bad debt, it is totally connected to the first economy in the EU to enter recession this year, the value of the beans are down 90% though so it MUST be a good investment.

    I'll sell you the Green beans today if you like . . . They are very good beans. :D

    Sure you can invest but be prepared to look at returns over the next year or two that would make you dream about 5% returns.
