I think they keyword here is fun :) Recently I have been working with a lot of social media companies on new products, and this is one of the more interesting ones. I could definately see folks using this as fun and interactive way of collaborating with new people, or creating demo level songs.

However, I don't really see it being used as a way of producing professional level quality recordings though. It would be just as easy to email tracks directly to the other musicians. Who knows though..

Wonder what the security is like in it.. Can you lock down songs etc. so only people you specify can get access.. Be interesting if people start using other people's half finished songs etc..

What are they then? Facebook, Bebo, Myspace etc?

Yeah they would be the most famous of the non-enterprise (for want of a better expression) companies.. but also Atlassian, Telligent, Yammer, Twitter etc etc etc.. :)

I can't keep up with all the new tools :) ... they all kinda play into the same space (but with different tools).. creating communities with similar interests, sharing knowledge and information with the intent of improving collaboration.

Bojam is the first musical based one i have seen (not that I have looked though), but it is a very similar concept to the others non-musical community sites. Should be intersting.
