Riverstown foot beagles had 7 hounds stolen on saturday. 6 bitches and a dog.

    4 lemon and white bitches
2 black and tan bitches and a
    black and tan dog

this is a trencher fed local pack, losing 7 hounds out of 31 and 6 of them bitches will set us back years and ruin this season and next. We have no bitches left that were going to be bred.

This is being done for easy money if you hear of anything let me know here or get on to Lamby.
Anyone in hounds will know the damage this does to a pack.

very sorry to hear that BryanL, sounds like a big blow. I know a pack of foot beagles in Limerick and will make them aware in case anythin comes up at that end.

Sounds to me like a planned hit if all the bitches were taken.
Ive seen this sort of stuff in documentaries on the telly where a van load of anti's travel to different labs and farms and release all the animals.
I hope thats not the case and you get the dogs back bryan but I wouldn't under estimate the F#####s.

i would e mail all the ports of your loss if you have not done so ,this is a all to common now a days .a friend had one of his two spaniel stole when his wife was walking them at the back of his house . the narge ,countyside alliance ,ikc ,ifa, etc should have a date base of phone no emails .we all could sign up with a pic of the dog breed etc its so easy to send a pic message or e mail now a days .i would not be held responsible if i caught someone with a dog of mine .

Can I suggest you get this well flagged on radio magazines etc. The Irish Shooters Digest I suspect would run a brief article on this if you contact them, they have advertised 100% charity shoots for free and I am assuming a similiar line maybe taken on something like this

Contact C103FM (North Cork) & see if they will run a stint on it.

defo robbed to order. fcuking scum. if i hear of anyone selling beagles up this way i'll get in touch. its happening alot now. terriers especially being sought after by dog thieves. its lads who buy these dogs are as bad as the scum who take them.

good advice about emailing the ports. i firmly believe stolen dogs go across the water. the hunting dog world in ireland is quite small really and yet dogs stolen are rarely seen again. defo think they go to england. did they try the local suspects yards etc..?

I'm with BrianL on that! I would say the dogs were stolen by or for fellow hunters! Where the hell would they use them though, surely it's a small enough community. I hope the dogs are ok and they don't suffer.
