Just noticed my pics on flicker are saying that Image Stabilsation is off...

Is there an option on the 400D to turn this on or does it not have it?

I noticed I was getting a lot more shake then usual lately but put it down to the booze :)

    DeV.

It's down to the lens you use and if it has IS.

IS for Canon is only on the lenses.

    So, check the lens.

Hopefully that will clarify those tags you see.

Its a nifty fifty (which almost never leaves my camera at the moment :) )

    No that doesn't have IS.

In that case, IS will always be off.

I've never noticed the tag before, so might have a look through some of my photos to see if it's on or off, depending on the image.

IS wouldn't really be needed on a nifty fifty ...

if you are shooting in low light you are better off using a tripod ...

Some cameras have IS built into the body, eg. the Olympus E-series, some Sony's aswell.
