I am just wondering if anyone can give an insight as to why majority of shops have removed mirrors on the shop floors or limited them to very small amount.
I have been shopping with number of friends/family and all have commented about how annoying this is and turns you off trying stuff on the spot so i don't understand why they're doing it

Probably because they need the space for the xtra stock they have at xmas. There would be mirrors in the fitting rooms so i wouldnt have a problem if there was none on the shop floor.

I know some stores just want you to buy their product now, and you with the intention you'll try it on at home and return it if you don't like it, but most of us don't bother returning it, so a sale has been done.

Also I think the stores that don't have mirrors in their actual little booths (this really annoys me), mean you have to come out and look in a big mirror with all the others around, and naturally they'll comment, or you'll ask for advice, and no one is going to say "you look like a muppet", and there again, a sale may be made.

    That's my tuppence worth!

Personally I hate when there are no mirrors:(

<rant>I am sick to death of people complaining that Dunnes does not have enough mirrors on the shop floor. If there are units next to a mirror, millions of clothes will be hung on it, thrown over it and knitwear will be forced through the bars, ruining it. There'll also be empty smoothie containers and stuff for other departments..dressing gowns, shoes, hairbands, kids stuff...and eh homewares stuff too. This has to be cleared several times a day and is especially bad in winter months because of coats. It ruins the fitting rooms too, because all the clothes have to sorted and re-hung there. It's a total nightmare, so that's why they have to be limited in shops where people couldn't give a ****. I'm sure the mirrors in BT's etc are mess-free....</rant>
