Mods if this is'nt the right place please move.

I'm interested in doing the Diploma in Dress Design (Professional) at the Grafton Academy in Dublin. I've already finshed uni and dont want to go back to the likes of NCAD for another full on four years. So the Grafton Academy looks like an appealing option as it can be done part-time. Does anyone have any experience of this place, what the course s like, lecturers/teachers? Any info is much appreciated!

I have done lots of courses in the Grafton Academy and would highly recommend them. They are very thorough and I would definitely return.

I'm doing a dress design class there at the moment. I'm not doing the diploma because I'm really just doing it for personal interest as opposed to a career. I just go one to the evening classes. You do a combination of design / making-up classes and art classes. You pay in blocks of 18 classes and attend on a particular night for design and then sign up for the art classes at a time that suits so there's a nice bit of flexibility there. The classes are basically groups of 8 with one tutor who goes around and helps you on a one-to-one basis. I've found the tutor I have good, but there a a good few there so I can't speak for all of them.

Thanks Anxi, currently doing the same thing. Apparently this needs to be done before your accepted into the full-on diploma. See I know the course is not accredited by any particular institution, so its not like going to UL or NCAD, but there seems to be quite a few successful designers that have graduated from there and some of the tutors that have trained there have gotten great jobs out of it. I'm just wondering how anyone has found the training, skills thought etc and the employment prospects afterwards? And basically any personal opinons!
