Good luck finding a 50kg vest. The biggest I've ever seen was 20kg. I'd suggest one of those and some webbing with exttra weight attached. Out of curiosity, why do you need such a heavy vest?

50kg is huge alright. Think I have seen them online, shipping would be a fortune though. Think that big is intended for training firemen etc.

I have been looking to make one I can attach weights to.

I was in one on Saturday that I think he guy said could take up to 60kg or so. It was military so maybe try some military supply sites.

Get a back pack and stuff it with weight plates wrapped in towels :)
Great for a jog or climbing trees.

I saw a guy with trigrip plates made into a vest

You put 2 webbing straps through the upper 2 holes, so you have one plate on your front, one on the back, and the webbing on your shoulders. Then another webbing belt goes around your front into the final hole, front & back, or possibly right under your crotch  to hold them close to your body.

I tried it once on my shoulders (with no additional belt/crotch strap) and found it a bit awkward, some padding would help though, you can probably get strap cushions in camping/army shops. My plates were also 20kg each so dug in more.

Ahh Rubadub, is there anything you CAN'T make. I reckon there should be a thread called "The Rubadub Challenge" where posters come up with different apparatus and you have to go make it from ordinary household stuff.

:) g'em did come up with some challenge a while back making something out of biscuit tins or something!

Another weighted vest idea I came up with was cut 2 holes in a old sweatshirt, down where your "love handles" would be. Now turn it up and put your arms through those holes. Now you have a pouch front & back that you can slot 10kg plates into. I have heard others using fishing jackets, which have loads of pockets all over them.

Another idea was a lifejacket, removing the foam and sticking in sand or small metal weights & sand.
    This style of one.

I am happy enough to use my dip belt though. I did use a over the shoulder laptop bag too as a dip belt you can stick in a plate, adjust the strap and wear it like a sporran

No squat rack in my gym, and havent room for one at home. Have been doing step ups holding heavy dumbells instead but will be needing more weight in a while and cant get heavier dumbells in this gym. Rubadub's ideas are good but prefer something more purpose built, comfortable and durable. Also will use it for hillwalking , etc when I am back to doing those things.
