The last night of the Galway Jazz Festival is on in The Crane tonight with Hugh Buckley and Guy Barker in a quartet, see www.galwayjazzfestival.com for more details. The Jazz Addicts also play every Sunday in Massimos...

Well, did you end up going out?
I went down to check out Neachtains. Good gig but not very many punters so headed Whesht to get a bit of Jazz in the Crane. €15 entrance fee turned me on my heel very quickly and propelled me through the doors of Massimos which was a tumble weed zone. Went home and had a hot whiskey instead

Went to the Crane...we didn't bother paying €15 in to see the Jazz upstairs either, sounded good though...Stayed downstairs and enjoyed the trad session with a couple of pints of stout instead :)

    cheers for the suggestions peeps

The main thing that struck me last night was the lack of students out and about. Have they not got their grants yet?

No they have, they've just run out.

Anyone go to the Cellar? Would have liked to have made a jazz gig this weekend but see above regarding grant why i didn't :(

The Massimo's one is an odd one, before 11 sometimes busy, sometimes not, after 11 always jammed...
