There was a big mention during Freshers' Week about an episode of The Panel being recorded in Trinity in December. But since then, I haven't heard anything about it.

Does anyone know anything? Is it still going ahead?

Apparently the first show of the new season was filmed in UCD.

Yeah I remeber that too, even though the panel is kinda rubbish now I would still kill to go(especially if Andrew Maxwell was there)

This would be cool anyway according to this article one of the episodes will be filmed in the Samuel Beckett Theatre didnt read it all but I dont think it gives a date....

'The production values of the show remain largely the same, with the promise that more video clips, in a nod towards the growing wonder of YouTube, will be used. The Panel is still recorded in theatres: 10 of the season's 14 shows will be at the 450-seater O'Reilly Theatre in Dublin's Belvedere College; others will be shot at Draíocht in Blanchardstown, Bray's Mermaid Arts Centre and, for the first time, Trinity College's Samuel Beckett Theatre.'

How much do you think the tickets will be and where do you think we could get them?

It's something that Comedy Soc have been working on. We approached the producers with the idea in mind and we've since been working with them and the Beckett to sort out the details.

There are still some very important technicalities to sort out but the planned date for filming is December 10th. All going to plan, Comedy Soc members will be able to apply for tickets the week before.

You'll hear more when it's all boxed off in a neat little package.

The show has clearly radically altered and now has a new target audience.

It's now on rte1, and they talk about boring stuff like politics instead of the incident with the farmer and the gaurds.

The stuff they talk about is too heavy and it's lost all humour as a result.

I signed up to the mailing list with Happy Endings productions. The tickets are free. I got two sets of four tickets for this season (Seoige/D'arcy) and to be honest it's not that great. The live show itself is very repetitive and seems very rehearsed which doesn't come across in the TV edit. Both were in Belvo and I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back. I was told to be there at 7.30, starts at 8.45ish and ends at 11.30. Not worth 4 hours of my life tbh

So has everyone got their texts now? I saw it was a 6/1 chance of getting a place and wasn't too hopeful, then I got a text a couple of days after expected which made for a nice surprise. Anyone know any of the arrangments yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,536 ✭✭✭Mark200

I didn't get a text. I was really disappointed. My friend didn't get one either. We were both looking forward to it since Freshers week

If anyone has a ticket but doesn't want it anymore and is willing to sell, let me know :) hah

Exactly the same as me. I've heard nothing as of yet, though the text promised an email last Thursday.

Anybody who contacted us asking to be added was added. Im sorry if you didnt get emails. Te problem with having such a massive email list is that often google doesn't allow the entire list to be sent at once. Even when it does some of the emails do not get delivered. PM me your details and I will make sure you are on the list.
