Was George W. Bush ever on the Simpsons?

Maybe I'm wrong here but I can't remember George W. Bush ever featuring in the Simpsons during his rise to power and 8 year run in the White House.

I know he was briefly mentioned in that episode where Homer goes head to head with his father Bush Sr. but I can't remember him actually ever appearing in the show itself and this struck me as odd considering how the writers were never shy of featuring presidents (past or present) as supporting characters before W.

Was W. a sacred cow or something as far as Fox were concerned or is this just further evidence that the Simpsons has lost it's edge?

Bush senior and Barbara Bush were certainly on the show many times so I'm wouldn't say that Fox wouldn't dare do such a thing.

I don't recall George W ever on the Simpsons though. Maybe someone else will know

Homer and bart did create 2 cardboard cutouts of George W. and Jeb Bush in the episode with George Snr and Barbara. Episode called Two Bad Neighbors.

i certainly wouldn't say it's cos Fox havn't got the nerve, because he's been sent up in Family Guy and American Dad PLENTY of times & they're both Fox shows.

+ while i can't say for certain dubya's been in the simpsons (though my first reaction is that he hasn't) he has been mentioned- i think homer refered to him as Commander Cukoo Bananas in an ep- so again, i wouldnt put it down to fear of a finger-wagging from fox. :)

I haven't been watching the newer epsiodes so have they feaatured Obama at all? It always struck me as odd that they never mentioned George W. Bush especially since Family Guy were always mocking him.

Do The Simpsons feature any political figures anymore? I can't recall any from a recent series

They've only featured his wife Michelle, who seems to really like being in the spotlight and milking her fortune of being the wife of an extremely famous man. When she did make her appearance it was awful, not funny, perhaps even cringeworthy. I'd say the secret service wouldn't want to put Obama or Bush forward anyway. While they could probably have some fun with Bush they wouldn't be allowed make cracks at Obama because if you do that you are condemned as racist.

I don't think we'll ever see the presidents in the simpsons anymore, though Bill Clinton was brilliant whenever he was on, especially in Citizen Kang.

Just checked, and apparently a picture of Homer punching GWB was in "Regarding Margie".

Nah that was GHWB. It was a picture from the episode in which he moved in across the street.

To quote Monty Burns, "My God, are you always 'on'?"

incorrect , homer points to a newspaper pic of him punching GB senior and then proceeds to point to a pic of him punching the younger bush
