Has anyone famous ever sent you a friend request on MySpace? I got one in my inbox from Heidi Klum. She must be a fan.

Wow, no, not really. Was she the real one? For example, there's a million Christian Bales.

Tara Reid.... but I assume she was just spamming for sex so I ignored it.

I have the footballer Joey Barton and it is actually him. He was my favourite player at City but then turned into a scummer. Must go delete him.

Pah! Everyone knows all the real celebrities hang out on Geocities.

Oh yes, I mean as in Heidi Klum the supermodel, not some German lady who happens to have the same name. As for if it was really her I can't be sure. Her page looks very genuine though.

    Hi,
When the bebo craze first took off here around 2004 one of my friends had a t-shirt printed with her username on it on the back with add me as a friend under that again. She wore it to a couple of concerts and different things. That De Burg/Davidson one sent her a request, but i suppose she is not famous enough to get excited over. Then there was Alex Best after meeting her in Navan at a club, still not enough to get excited about. If i can remember correctly she got an invite from a few of the coronation street actors too (going by their off screen identity) which i suppose still isn't much. god if you think back about it, if someone did that now they would be kicked up the hole for being a loser. Amazing how times change. At the time it was a novel idea and i suppose people looked her up out of curiosity. The amount of friend requests she would get that night or the day after was insane. Not on any of those social networks anymore though. A my space t-shirt might do the trick at concerts, but i suppose you need to have something interesting to offer with my space for it to be understood. Bebo is just a peeping Tom site for school kids at this stage.

Has anyone ever wondered what will the next generation of social networking be like? I heard there is a new network soon to be launched that will try and rival both facebook and myspace with a live interactive feed that automatically asserts the mood and intelligence of the user just by the way they negotiate their profile and the profile of others, i.e if they log in to check photos, read comments, leave comments, look for music, it all has an influence on the type of person they are. even the frequency of looking at people's profiles without being friends with them is taken into account. An interesting one was that depending on how well they manage their page with new stuff and interesting stuff their status/ability as a computer/network user will be outlined on thier profile. Scary enough stuff, im sure there could be privacy issues, but then again it could eliminate those for example browsing endless pages looking at young teens etc?. Maybe, i dont know it might never happen. I must look again and find the link to where i found that info.

I suppose that brings me to the question. What would your ideal social network be like?. Have we peaked already as regards development of these things. Are people as interested in these things moving forward anymore?.

Remember that guy that was famous briefly cause he had that catchphrase from that annoying show and then he went on that one show where the people that used to be famous or had just become briefly famous for some inane reason had to do stupid things like licking animal's testicles and catapulting themselves into nettle patches and the like so they could remain famous for just a few minutes longer?

He was my friend on Bebo once.

Dr Dre added me in MySpace. Couple days after I added Ice Cube. Then Ice Cube withdrew from Myspace and ended up setting his own personal site up.

Dr Dre is still there though I think, not sure though really as I haven't bothered to logon to myspace in months. Closed down my facebook as it's total shíte, just full of adverts and crappy spam games.

Bebo is for kids/teens and I'm too old for that crap anyway, I want to smash peoples heads when I see all their "txt" speak

My band had gotten an add from the band Textures on myspace.
We had just had the page up a couple of days with a couple of tracks on it and Textures are a relatively big Technical Metal band from France. So it was pretty cool to get added by them.
But then the band didn't last long n the page went down.
