    It's sad, so sad
    It's a sad, sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd.

Spot on Elton, downright ridiculous is what it's getting.

One of the most satisfying parts about winning an argument used to be watching your foe crumple up his defeated face, take a deep breath, lick his dry lips and then eventually spit out those beautiful ten words "I'm sorry Pighead, I was wrong and you were right."

Last night Pighead had just concluded yet another victorious argument (We were arguing over whether "clear" was a colour or not. He thought it was, the spanner) with his pal and sat back waiting for the fcuker to go red and go through his apologising routine.

The apology never came. Instead he threw out two words that shook Pighead to his very core. "My bad" The fcuker had admitted he was wrong WITHOUT apologising. And the smug look on his face and the horror on Pigheads, meant we both knew that even though he'd lost the argument he had won the war.

Frankly this whole "My Bad" thing is a load of nonsense. Be man enough to apologise and stop trying to squirm out of it with those extremely annoying two words. If Pighead is eventually wrong about something you can be damn sure he'll have the moral courage to say sorry.

So what about you? Are you man/woman enough to use proper apologies or are you a smug squirmer too?

I agree piggy but also I see a big distinction between saying "I'm sorry" and "I apologise". I want them to be "sorry".

I'll willingly apologise when I'm in the wrong, not when I'm wrong.

    Pighead's an Elton fan...figures, I guess.

Sorry's definitely better alright. Even better if they follow it up with "oh great one" but "I apologise" is acceptable.

What's not acceptable is RECORDED apologies. Like when you're at a train station and your train is late and some bloke presses a button which activates a robotic half arsed pre recorded apology on behalf of the company. Cop out.

Pighead wants whoever has caused the train to be late to be hauled down to the station, stand him/her up on a big box and let him look each ab=nd every one of us in the eye and show us that he/she truly is sorry. People today aren't accountable for their actions.

What was the last thing you had to say sorry for Pighead?

You were wrong to blame your hiccups on the mustard. They were more likely caused by you eating the mustard too fast. Too blame it on the mustard was wrong.

    You can apologise as well.

Should that not be 'To blame it on the mustard'?

Definitely not. If Pighead wrote "Too" instead of "To" you can be damn sure there was a perfectly good reason for it. Now say you're sorry, Hattori.

When I'm wrong (which is not very often) I tend to say ''suck on this'' or my personal favourite...go ask the butt end of my bollocks, knocks them sideways every time.

Now you have ‘earworm’ed me and probably many others with this song. All around the country there are people humming this little dittie and thus earworming others in the vicinity. This could lead to a national Elton singalong. I believe this rates a public apology from you PigHead.:)

On mature reflection, Pighead realises that perhaps it wasn't nor fair to earworm the public with such a song, especially considering it's the start of another joyous weekend.

You're damn right Dave with an apostrophe. Pighead has absolutely nothing to be reflecting maturely about. It's a bloody good song and if there's a better mournful ballad about unrequited love then Pighead for one has yet to hear it.

What's your favourite bit Dave! Pighead's is circa 50 seconds just after Elton sings "What do I do to make you want me" then gives an utterly heartfelt look into the camera the way only a gay man can. Beautiful. Imagine Springsteen trying to pull that off. No chance.
