Think I might need the assistance of a shrink. Is something like this likely to be covered by private health insurance (in this case Quinns)?

AFAIK, yes, a consultant psychiatrist would be covered, but why don't you ring them and ask them? Alternatively the consultant's secretary would know.

Thanks anotherlostie. I rang them yesterday and even though my card says 'company policy health plus (no excess)', she told me that I would have to pay initially up front. Then at the end of the year, they will only pay €51/consultation after I have already paid out €220 (ie. the first 220 isn't covered).
Can't seem to find details of my particular scheme on their website, so have emailed them with the same query - to allow them to come back and confirm. How can you have 'no excess' on the card and then be told there is....
Will find out more on Monday no doubt...

Made two attempts at mailing them - but they both bounced back 'message delivery failure notification'.
Does anyone here have a working customer support email address for quinn healthcare?
Always like to get this sort of info in writing - thats why I won't use they're silly little enquiry form - as I have no record of it being sent.
