How long have you been training?

Are you taking in plenty of high quality carbs before your workout?

Is it just me or should you not be feeling lethargic, almost hungover after your sessions or some of them anyway? I know I do on the intentially harder ones and if you aren't well then maybe I haven't trained hard enough as intended. Nausea, the odd headache, wobbly legs, unable to settle or sleep (kind of like the DT's), hungry but can't eat, urge for stodge food if you are hungry (the urge for a batter sausage is the same after a night on the beer or after a hard special endurance session), notions that you will never train (drink) again, watery eyes, urge to lie on couch for hours, struggle to get up the next morning etc etc. All par for the course I'd say after a hard session (in pub or gym or track). Depends on how long you have trained and what you are training for though.

I was always like this after doing legs

Infact, i used to have to stop (at the start) to get sick, then continue

My workouts tent to be short n hard

maybe 35 mins at most... maybe thats why i dont get this feeling????

    But it sounds great! :)

Well, I know your body stores toxins in fat, so when you exercise (at least, when you're a newbie) the toxins get released. This can cause issues such as the hungover feeling or vomiting.

    Time out please?!!

Apols for hi-jacking the thread momentarily tbaymusicman?

You get sick? bob04? Im only back starting and just working on the cardio at the mo to shift a bit of butt but will be progressing to toning maybe one month. Ive joined Westwood as I need help on this front cos Ive never done it.

If I do a really hard workout - will I get sick? I DO NOT want to throw up in front of everyone in the gym :eek::eek:

    Sorry again tbmm

When i first starting doing my legs, many moons ago, yes i got sick (in the toilet, not in front of everyone)

I tried a spinning class a while a go, on an empty stomach (big mistake) and had to leave during it and get sick

Same thing happened to me when i played football, maybe i have a problem :o

Don't worry, you'd have to be training very hard to get sick. If i see someone throwing up in a binin westwood i'll know I've been proved wrong

hangovers are usually caused by dehydration. If you're working out hard you're probably sweating a good deal and the efefct could be similar.
Drink plentyof water and maybe take some electrolyte too afterwards.

Ive never yet - but Ive only been jogging (shuffling at pace:)) Is it like a stitch where you work through it or do you stop immediatly. On band of brothers they kept running. But then again they were about to go to war. I fortunatley, labour under no such pressure. :D

No - Ill be the one forgetting that you get dizzy after the treadmill and reeling arms akimbo about the place knocking people over like a tracksuit clad hellychopter...or the one two steps behind everyone else in step class....or lying on the bicycle instead for pedaling fo the last 10 mins of spin....

    ...Ill be easy to spot!

I think you're worrying about nothing.

Just do your work out, push yourself hard, and drink lots of water.

If you feel tired/hungover the next day, it's probably dehydration/toxins being released/your body tired after so much exercise.

It is unlikely you will puke in the gym - people know when they're about to get sick.

Try to think positive thoughts about the gym and working out instead of replacing them with negative thoughts. That'll just lead to lack of motivation.

I've gotten sick at particularly hard football trainings, but never during weights. Feels good later once you've recovered though.
