    REMEDY AND BUDVAR Presents:
    Goldie (Metalheadz)
    FRI DEC 12TH. WAX. 11pm.

    City Discs e20 +booking

We at Remedy welcome Goldie back for his first how in Dublin in over 18 months. This time it’s in the intimate surroundings of WAX. I know we must be mad putting Goldie on in a 200 Cap’ venue but this night will be really special and it’s all part of the Remedy sessions in Wax. Dillinja already destroyed the place. His music could be heard from Dame Street (well almost). DJ Food did his usal mash up that went down a treat and now it’s the turn of the Goldikus’s. Be prepared for a Roadblock outside the South William Street venue.
Goldie’s a man of many talents. He’s an actor, filmmaker, graffiti artist, celebrity and most importantly one of the most influential DJ / Producers of the modern era. From the genre defining “Timeless” to his latest release “Malice in Wonderland” Goldie has always been there at the cutting edge. Not very many artists can mix cameo’s in Eastenders with albums of this quality. He’s taking his music seriously at the moment and his DJ sets have reflected this. He loves playing in Dublin and always puts on a show. He might even do his party piece again this time (downing a pint of Guinness in one go). Expect some killer Drum and Bass cuts and lots of mucking around. Bring it on!

    Goldie

Goldie had his first taste for the limelight when he was involved in the groundbreaking documentary Bombin' in 1985 by Gus Corrall and Dick Fontaine this let Goldie show his talent as graffiti artists and form friendships with T-Kid and many more well respected artists.

It was his move to London and a visit to Rage Club in 1991 that things change for the graffiti artist and the music genesis was born. DJ Fabio and Grooverider were playing, Goldie had a taste of Jungle and wanted more which gave him the drive and lust to make the smash and incredible and haunting dark tune Terminator.

It was around this time that Goldie launched the infamous Sunday sessions at the Blue Note which saw people come from all around the world to dance all night to Goldie sets and other DJs, The night was such a massive hit that many famous faces could be seen down there such as David Bowie, Val Kilmer, Josh Evans leading to endorsements with DC Shoes and Tequila Gold, Gold party with the likes Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas there. Playing at the Viper Rooms for Johnny Depp. With Goldie commercial crossover he was then able to support acts such as James Addiction and Bjork and many more.

While Goldie was seeing the birth and growth of the now infamous Drum and Bass label Metalheadz which is still the strongest and most well know label worldwide he found the time to create an album which to this day is what it is titled Timeless, This saw Goldie go on to sell more then 250,000 copies and it is today the album that everyone still talks about.

Many of the public don't know any of the 'Goldie' above but have learned about him from his many TV appearances on shows such as Shooting Stars, The Jo Whiley Show, and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. More recently he took part in 'Stars in Fast Cars' which saw Goldie beat other celebs to win the wacky show.

Goldies first film role was in David Bowies gritty northern gangland flick Everybody Loves The Sunshine. This led into a part in Guy Ritchie's classic Snatch . Goldie appear in The World Is Not Enough, Over these three films Goldie worked alongside such actors as Brad Pitt, Robert Carlyle, Robbie Coltrane, Denise Richards and Vinnie Jones. He also played Angel in Eastenders and became a favourite with many of the (Eastenders) fans

As well as being in the public eye for TV and film Goldie DJs every weekend abroad with it being in Europe, America, Australia South East Asia , South America, The United States, Korea & Japan to name but a few. He just finished off his Asia/Australia 05 tour and the promoters were so happy 06 tour is already in the mix. The Golden one has smashed his record for set time by playing for 5hours and has been playing to packed out venues nightly with amazing reviews some like the ones below:

    * "Goldie's set is a tight, diverse affair. Plenty of the Metalheadz grime, the epic build-ups and breakdowns and incredible breaks that have characterised Metaheadz over the last ten years."
    * All up, this has to be one of my favourite DnB experiences ever."
    Quotes from JM (Obsure)

With his long awaited new album out next year Sine Tempus which is the soundtrack to his Original Screen play (that is 7 years in the making) Goldie himself will be directing, it looks like this larger then life character will be smashing it again next year and no doubt pulling a few surprises out of his hat!

I'll have to be making an appearance for this.

Goldie/Metalheadz live in the Point in 1995 was an amazing nite despite it only being half full and probably the best ever weekends ive had out raving, ive only seen him once after that a few years ago so will be good to see him again.

    Best Jungle tune ever IMO
