If you liked the other CODs you'll like this one I'd say. It''s got the pace of 4 in a WW2 setting.

It's no great leap forward but it's an improvement.

I was always going to buy the game and I'm not disappointed I did.

As Scumlord says, if you like the COD games, you'll like this one. Can you try renting it at all?

You a PC or Console gamer?

My opinion is that on the PC the sound is so cr@p (in MultiPlayer) that it's not worth spending your money on...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,381 ✭✭✭Br4tPr1nc3

yes, simply because of the sound, the game is terrible!!
    -.-

dont get me wrong, i know why you think its ****.
becasue in 4 i could hear a player half a map away and knew exactly where he was goin.
but id rather have the skill based on your aim aswell as actual tactics,
    from a competitive aspect.

Oh Please! Suspend your belief and enjoy it for what it is!

Sorry but I can't have the Irish attitude and go "Ah sure look it, what can you do". All CoD games (on the PC) so far had excellent sound feedback. I expect no less from CoD:WW. But Treyarch are a bunch of n00bs so that's not possible apparently... FFS it's CoD4 with a WW2 skin! Where's the difficulty?!?

yea im a console gamer, ps3. dont really understand what people mean about the sound. Is it a lot different from mw sound wise. I might open up an extra vision account and try it out first but if the worst comes to the worst and i dont want to spend my own money on it i might just get my s/o to buy it for me at christmas. Dunno could i wait that long wiyhout playin it though. Was still playin cod 4 for hours this evenin. Multiplayer obviously

there is no difficulty... they have done this on purpose for some reason.

when you get a chance go onto a devmap (/devmap mp_<mapname>) then type in snd_<attentuation> and snd_<occlusion>, cant remember what to set these values to but its pretty obvious once you type them in.

its sounds AMAZING. boggles me why the developers would fvck up the sound on purpose.

Well, apparently, on Console there is no difference in sound so maybe it's worth investing in! If you like CoD4 you'll probably like this one too!

c0d5 is a great game , but on line play is just too cramp , the levels just dont seem open enough, none off the levels are good for sniping, every time you reapear after getting shot you have 2 or 3 people in front of you, . back playing co4 now, tis a shame as co5 is a good game . just dont like the on line game.

What?? Admittedly I have only played the beta, but the levels seemed far more open then they are in CoD4, and I had no trouble sniping on any of them.

Depends on what servers you are playing on . The 54 player servers are too full .. spawn die spawn die . Drop it down to 24 player though and they are fine .

I cant even GET on a server 90% of the tme -Dont buy it if you want online/multiplayer

I'm a cod4 player myself, but my clan's making the move to world at war so I'm moving over too.

The sound is fine with the exception that when you move it sounds like there is an enemy moving around nearby. This is quite off putting, but once you get used to it you can distinguish between the noise you make and enemies, only "n00bs" cant :) Besides, promod will be coming out soon enough for the PC and this sound problem will be rectified so it's pretty much a non-issue if you're a pc gamer in my opinion.

The game itself, well you could pretty much call it an expansion to call of duty 4 if you're only talking about multiplayer. Not much has changed gameplay wise, just new weapons, new maps and some new abilities and perks. So if you're bored with cod4 and want a little more, then world war war is right up your alley. Also the singleplayer is quite awesome, short but very enjoyable.

My birthday is Tuesday and I bought it for my girlfriend to give it to me.

I tore the side panel with my nail around 10 minutes ago and turned it on its side and the disc fell out. She will now give me the box on Tuesday and I will act all surprised.

    LOL @ GF

Now waiting on damn SLOW software update.
